Hey @RustyGreen , how’s your water with the new pump?

I know it’s a different situation but my coworker needed a new well and it took over a month for her to get down to only cleaning her filter a couple times a day.

    Working good!

The well man put some chlorine tablets in there, he said the it would break down the iron oxide accumulation.

Man alive was he right, we put a hose right off the tank to outdoors and that water came out black. :puke:

I flushed it/let it rest probably a half dozen times and the water was back to clear.

We are fortunate to have very good water, all I have is a basic filter.

The well is 114 feet deep.

We had to have our 40 year old pump replaced this spring. Water clarity was good almost immediately, but it took more than 2 weeks for the chlorine smell to go away.

Pump was 250' down, but he said the records he found looked like the well itself was over 500' deep -- not all that unusual for this area.

Cost us $2300 for the 3/4hp pump, wire, and labor. Took 2 guys about 2 hours to replace it. Fortunately the plastic pipe was still good.
Previous installer had used UF rated cable, which apparently is not correct for well application, so I've got about 250' of 12-2 UF cable I'll use when I get around to running more outlets & lights in my garage.

Good morning shop men and ladies, have a great and blessed Friday.

@PzTank 50 degrees, that’s nice! :) It’s 74 currently and going to the low 90’s today, and looks like highs around 90 this next week.

Good Friday morning, friends! Hope you all have an awesome day :hattip:

I've got arthritis about everywhere and bad knees. I've had to have fluid drawn off my left knee twice with the last time being about 5-6 years ago. It's been acting up a lot the last few months and a few days ago got worse and Weds. I started limping from not being able to bend it to winding up on crutches, again.

Since we moved I can't go to the same place I used to go so I went to urgent care yesterday to have fluid drawn off and they couldn't do it so I wound up at the ER for most of the day and got it done there. Walked in on crutches, out without them......just like the last 2 times I've to have it done.

Hate I had to go to the ER to have it done but I had to have some relief.

Sorry to hear. Hope it heals quickly. You made the right decision. As hard as it is to get into a specialist the ER is increasingly our only option as well. The only good thing that comes out of it for us anyway is that we suddenly get a call from our regular doctor followed by a notification of an appointment we couldn’t get

Only liked that for the good morning.

Sorry you have to go through this, glad you were able to get some relief.

Unfortunately I can closely sympathize on this one, I haven't been able to crouch or kneel in years.
