So my phone pairs nice, always has, music works great, but now when I take a phone call nobody can hear me.

I've tried unpairing, all of the normal things, but I can't figure it out.

Any chance there could be a fuse or a cable got loose or something?

    HELP! haha

I do not know, but maybe there is a Entune update? This has happened to wifeys Subie and VW now. It was a simple update at the dealer at no charge. Worth a quick call

If it pairs, you can hear music, and you can hear others during phone calls them it may be the microphone. Troubleshoot it by seeing if voice command works. If it never hears you and it's not just a phone call thing then the microphone deserves some attention to confirm the diagnosis.

I've had that before when I leave work, and it's rectified by simply shutting off the car and turning it back on. I have no idea why it happens, however I'll say recently it looks like Android Auto has updated, and I haven't encountered this issue in quite some time.

Also make sure the cord is good. Some cords I have work worse than others (constantly disconnecting and reconnecting while phone is static, and other curiosities)

Has it worked in the past? Does your phone work on a different vehicle? Does different Android phone work on your vehicle?

Try having the head unit forget the phone then re-setup.

Another thing to try is see if your Entune has newer firmware available that might fix your problem.

I have a strong suspicion it is the Microphone. Either that or something has been muted somewhere in the chain, i feel like it's the Mic tho.

Ya I don't use a chord, I just pair with bluetooth.

Music works, and I can hear people on the other line, it does seem like something is muted, but everything looks good on the phone and headunit. I guess I'll see if there's an update for the headunit, thanks guys.

The MIC is just over your head in the headliner.

Do you have the SOS button on the overhead console, if so, is the light lit? I'm asking because in my 2021 OR the MIC goes through the DCM (and is powered by the DCM) and then on to the Radio.

    Just some info for you.

I had it happened intermittently on mine music plays fine, but no-one car hear me. On either Apple CarPlay (hardwired or not) or Bluetooth.
Last time it happened I heard a crackling noise from the mic before the sound cut out. It started working again on the next trip. It’s been a few months since it happened and it’s been behaving.

Oh thanks for that info, I'll have to double check and pull everything apart tomorrow.

Before pulling things apart look at the SOS button and see if it is lit when the truck is powered. If the light is lit, then the DCM is functioning. If not functioning look for the DCM fuse in the engine fuse box.

Are you the only owner? Did a previous owner deactivate the DCM is the question?

I'm not familiar with any other trim besides the OR, just assumed Toyota installed the DCM/SOS on all trims. Perhaps not? Overhead center console.

I do have an SOS and the light is on, so it's gotta be the mic then right? Anyone pulled it apart before?

Unless you have been screwing around up there recently, how could the microphone fail? I seriously doubt that this is a physical failure, again assuming that you didn't cause it.

But then again, what the hell do I know?
