The pump sits in a bucket on the floor of the tank. It self-feeds so the bucket is always full even when the tank is very low. The pump is always surrounded by fuel, even down to the last half gallon or so

I did hit 460 once. Mine was a 10-14 days normal daily driving with some weekend trip. Iirc, my average tank was 24 mpg. Truck had oem Firestone tires. 420 was pretty normal

    Thanks!

Mine is a DCSB TRD Sport with the 3.5 V6, 4WD, and the 6MT. It has hit 400 miles well before DTE=0 a dozen or so times now, but I typically drive faster than this trip; I think 430(ish) was my previous best.

Damn hills around here. Every up-and-down takes another tenth off the mileage. Doesn’t anyone make a torque cam for this engine?

Dang, almost caught ya! The Taco definitely likes the hot weather.

    459.3 miles
    19.542 gallons
    23.9 mpg on the dash
    23.5 mpg actual

    ‘Empty’ was at 445 miles.
