DAMN! I was driving on the wrong side in Ireland THE WHOLE TIME I was there last year. I swear the steering wheel was on the right side. I SWEAR!

Two Irelands drive on opposite sides of the road. That's what I was told by my UK co-worker. Planning a vacation there next spring (that's why I talked about Ireland with the coworker), will do a hands on test.

I mean, I got my license 20 years ago so things could have changed.

One thing that I know has changed is following distances. I was taught 2 seconds in the city and 4 seconds on the highway. Apparently, they now teach 3 seconds everywhere because gen alpha can't remember two numbers.

When I got my license they taught a starting following distance of 2 seconds, then add a second for every 10 mph as speed increased. It was a great idea, but nearly impossible to execute in any traffic.

Nobody follows at a safe distance anymore.

You can be doing 82 in a 70 and you cant see the front plate on the car behind you.

Unfort LE doesn’t enforce anything but speeding for the most part. In Germany they enforce lane discipline and following distances with technology that can measure the distance between vehicles.

They wonder why there’s so much road rage in our country.

Republic of Ireland is left hand side. The biggest adjustment for me wasn't driving on the left, it was the damn narrow country roads with stone walls or dense hedges right next to the roads. I didn't go to Northern Ireland.

You should ask a competent local LEO if parking in the hash area next to a handicap spot counts as parking in the handicap spot. As that area is supposed to be for vans with wheelchair lifts to be able to operate. If it is, get state law number and then I'd call the non-emergency number for the police and tell them where it's at. In most states parking in an HC spot is $250+ fine. I've never called for someone in the hashed area, but I have for an actual HC spot. The cops sent one of their traffic officers around and wrote them a phat ticket.
