Anybody have any input/experience regarding Harbor Freight Daytona jack stands?
I'm a bit torn between trying to pick up a set for $30 at the sale alongside either a Pittsburgh bottle jack or a Daytona hydraulic jack.
Alternatively, there are Big Red 3 ton jack stands available from Home Depot for about $33, and those scored much better on a pretty thorough review video from ProjectFarm on Youtube.
Daytona or Big Red? Bottle jack or hydraulic? Any advice?

My Daytona 3 ton jack stands have been good but I've only had them for about 8 months, if I am getting under the car I do still put the removed wheels under the frame in case the jack stands fail. I had the 1.5 ton aluminum Daytona jack for about 4 years without issue till it died.

Good to know! Definitely agree with you on the secondary means of support. Playing with fire otherwise.

For the truck I ended up getting a set of their 6 ton stands. The height is a better match, I was always on the last rung of the 3 ton stands which felt a little sketchy. Extra weight rating is good peace of mind too

This is a good point, I already owned 6 ton ones for the tacoma height, the 3 ton ones are for the civic

I didn't know the 6 ton stands had better height, that really changes things. Not to mention the added safety margin.

Bigger stands are the way to go, Have 12 tons for the front and 6 tons for the rear. Much less play in the stands when they are setup lower.

You’d probably be better suited with an oxy propane setup
Dunno if you can convert the harbor freight set

I've used oxy/acetylene before, but never oxy/propane. What's the thought process behind using propane instead?
