Anybody have any input/experience regarding Harbor Freight Daytona jack stands?
I'm a bit torn between trying to pick up a set for $30 at the sale alongside either a Pittsburgh bottle jack or a Daytona hydraulic jack.
Alternatively, there are Big Red 3 ton jack stands available from Home Depot for about $33, and those scored much better on a pretty thorough review video from ProjectFarm on Youtube.
Daytona or Big Red? Bottle jack or hydraulic? Any advice?

My Daytona 3 ton jack stands have been good but I've only had them for about 8 months, if I am getting under the car I do still put the removed wheels under the frame in case the jack stands fail. I had the 1.5 ton aluminum Daytona jack for about 4 years without issue till it died.

Good to know! Definitely agree with you on the secondary means of support. Playing with fire otherwise.

For the truck I ended up getting a set of their 6 ton stands. The height is a better match, I was always on the last rung of the 3 ton stands which felt a little sketchy. Extra weight rating is good peace of mind too

This is a good point, I already owned 6 ton ones for the tacoma height, the 3 ton ones are for the civic

I didn't know the 6 ton stands had better height, that really changes things. Not to mention the added safety margin.

Bigger stands are the way to go, Have 12 tons for the front and 6 tons for the rear. Much less play in the stands when they are setup lower.

You’d probably be better suited with an oxy propane setup
Dunno if you can convert the harbor freight set

I've used oxy/acetylene before, but never oxy/propane. What's the thought process behind using propane instead?

I use the Daytona jack stands and they are solid. Use them on my Cayman, our Casita travel trailer and my 67 Camaro when I had that. Also have the Daytona 3 ton jack in red metal flake. Big, heavy monster with low profile that lifts up pretty darn high.

Pliers are good set is meh not sure why they changed their ratchet to a fixed anvil head, their version 1 was similar to VIM tools bit ratchets which i have been using for years at work.

I use the HF jack stands on everything from the lawn mower, to my tractors, to my trailers (long term storage). Get the 6 ton stands for extra height and capacity buffer.

Got 1/4 tall and 1/2" tall icon metric socket sets today and the pass-through ratchet and socket set today, filling out my toolbox with the 40% off sale.

Get up to the register, lady asks if for my # and if I'm inside track, gave her my number and I'm not right now, and asked if I had coupons. I'm buying only sockets on 40% off weekend, clearly I'd like to use the coupon. She says that if I want to, they have in store ones for paid members only. What. It'll save you money, she says, but yes, it'll also save you time when I have to take forever pulling it up on my phone in your shitty cell service store. Pull it out and she says "see, look how much you saved" and I'm like, yeah, too bad I didn't save any time with the coupon right there.

Anyone else's store now gate keeping the regular customer coupons behind ITC?

Picked up this little foldable Badlands shovel---- can be used fully extended (straight) or folded to use at a 90-degree angle as well. It comes with pouch and hardly takes up any space in the truck.

    4 run, 2 don't
Fun fact - if you find yourself in the woods with this thing and need to poop, you can fold the top at a 90 and prop a cheek on it.

Use the handle face down to keep you upright and do your business; although that setup is oddly sharp all the way around so maybe not.
