This is what I was thinking if I got one of the 100 gallon diamond plate tanks. I found one close to me for $500 that's 1.5 hours from me. Are you using On or Off road diesel?

I also found this one that's just up the road a few miles for $550. By the dimensions, I think it is about 300 gallon tank.

That’s just a cover for it, the original broke and that’s one of the perks of working in a machine shop

I put on road in mine simply because off road isn’t much cheaper around me and that gives me the option to fill my truck if I need to, which I have.

Ok so rebuild kits are available.. Just gotta find what model it really is.

There are a lot of options..

2oo series or 300 series... Searching for more ways to tell, watched a couple rebuild vids..

No need to go any farther till we find out the actual model.

Same tractor I run. Absolute great tractor for me so far.

KR has the same tractor in the 35hp version.

Anything over 25hp has to have Tier 4 emissions. Which for the Kioti means a DPF on the exhaust and periodic regens.

    ^^^^^^ what he said.
No DEF... Just regens that you can override or let cycle thru. For me the amount of regens depends on the fuel quality & if you putter it around or run it at the suggested rpms.

Lots of guys putter their tractors around & in these newer diesels it just gunks em up. They are supposed to be ran at the indicator marks...

On mine its 1700 minimum for movement or PTO engagement & a mark on the dash to show you & then full PTO speed is 2700ish... This keeps my regens down to very rarely. :)

Yea I know all that. I bought a 25 hp tractor to stay away from the Calireg’s. Just askin because I know all green hp is that way and I figured all others must comply.

Yeah, it's the EPA that set the rules. Despite the coming changes at the EPA for bigger diesels, the Tier 4 standards aren't likely to be going anywhere. At least not for now, as they were done under a different law.

Please elaborate. When I first got my L3901 I was (maybe puttering) at 2000rpm most of the time. After a couple of required regens I stepped that up to 2250 and that seemed to have helped greatly. The attached pic is cropped from another pic I had on my computer, so is not the best pic of my tach. Mine doesn't have any indication of what rpm to engage the pto. The only pto attachment I have is the grinder. I've been going down low rpms to engage/disengage the pto, thinking I'm saving the pto clutch. While doing actual grinding I run it at the top end of the pto range indicated on the tach. I have had to regen twice so far when grinding.. but the first time was during the very first grinding try when I was running at the low end of the pto marking on the tach scale.

When I shopped, I knew cockpit hydraulic location was important for me. I drove all the brands . It was close between Yanmar and kioiti .Know 3 fellows with K frames that vouched for them. Closeout price on a last years model sealed the deal. 803 hrs and doing well.

Mine regens at every 50 hrs approximately its a 2017 model. I think it's 1st year with the tier 4.

For most of these diesel tractors, the optimal engine rpm is usually near the 2400-2500 rpm range. On the Kioti is has a marked range for the PTO lower 1800 and upper 2400 rpms, the higher you are in that range the more efficient it's going to run. When toddling around from one place to another I set the throttle at the lower end of that range. If I'm working anything on the PTO I'm at the top end of the range. I usually turn the throttle down to around 1200 to engage the PTO then I turn it up to 2400, just because I think it reduces stress on the implements. If the engine starts a regen while I'm working the throttle is already set to 2400 if I'm using the PTO and I'll let it run it course. But if not I'll move it to wide open to help the DPF burn off the particulates better. I've never kept track of how often mine regens, but I'd guess it's usually at least 25+ hours between cycles. :notsure:

Edit: stole this off the web for the Kioti tractors.

I don't remember what PTO engagement was on my Kubota...

KRs 35 is close to my 40... Just a hair different on high end.

Like him I engage at the low mark. Mine even has an E on that mark. It's something to do with not blogging the motor, yet not trashing the gears.

But yes if I'm moving at all I'm at 2k. If working? It's at PTO speed.

This actually helps cool the tractor cause the water pump is moving it at full flow.

Lots of guts argue this as not needed... But I go with what they put in the manual.

Found out the hard way years back that when they tell you to run it hard for cooling.... They mean it.

Earlier this year, the wife and I ran 5 strands of barbed wire with 3 H braces. She was the tractor operator. About a 6 hour task, didn't dawn on me , the amount of time that it idled or ran low rpm. Well it dawned on me the following use. It ran sickly, I topped off the tank with some added hot shot and ran it hard, it re gend and it and I were relieved.
