Not sure Mr. Pibbs. The ones I've seen on vehicles tuck away pretty nicely to where they aren't super noticeable.

Thanks Ben because whether I’m 5’8” like I am or 6’6’ it’s awful helpful to have something like this. There are many times I use a 5 gallon pail to step onto to help me out ……

LOL. I'm under 6 ft and late 60s. I can't imagine this as a problem unless a person has an unfortunate matter going on, or is in poor shape.

I would suggest that https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/dogfuel.475806/ DogFuel has been shamed into oblivion by now. Maybe it is time to for us to ease up?

But, wow, that was one stupefyingly dumb original post.

That’s one thing I like about the Silverado and even Colorado, they have steps built into the ends of the bumper.

I don't have a 4th gen, but I do have a 3rd gen. I'd imagine the size is close to the same. I have some negative offset wheels and 265s. I can hop in the bed of my truck with a bit of effort. If I don't feel like making the effort, I utilize the negative offset "poke" and meaty tires as a step ... No accessories necessary. I'm 5'10 and 48 years old .

Sure, all of 3-4 inches below the tailgate. Fine if a low slung truck, but would be a tall step on many Tacomas. Bed step gives better functionality IMHO.

    I thought probably so.

Having actually owned the truck for eight years, while the powertrain has its annoyances it’s not nearly as bad as a few prima donnas and non-owners would like others to believe.

That said, based on a couple test drives the 4th gen powertrain is a good improvement.
