Well that was close. Think we're done practicing the jumps for a bit. No fall, but saw and felt that rock on the landing.

180 miles of some new twisty upstate ny roads. Think it’s time for a new coilover shock in back

Might expedite my skid plate requirement here lol.

Looks maybe 1/3 into the tube, looks like the footpeg mounting reinforced area helped mitigate some of the crushing. Will keep an eye for cracks and weld it up in the off season. Was thinking about a trade for a more Enduro bike same ride too, trade in / resale might be tough now haha.

240 miles today and went to a really cool Bikes& Breakfast in Poolesville, MD then hit 2 more GLMC bonus locations on the way home. The Breakfast event is held in the parking lot of a small sort of strip mall which also houses the town library. The mayor is a motorcycle enthusiast and was the one to get it started.

Probably 75-100 bikes this morning but a really nice variety. A nice batch of BMWs represented.

Italy has some examples here today.

    Used to be from England

    Even China

Walking around I ran into my friend Blaine Paulus and then met the mayor. He was inviting everyone to come over to his house from 11-1 when he would open up his shop and show off his collection. I already had learned this is an annual tradition part of why I went this morning. He lives only about 1/2 mile away so a short ridedown the road and I see these.

I guess he might have pulled these out to make room for the visitors. First thing inside the shop door is this beauty,

The only 4-cylinder bike in the collection, the rest are twins. Mostly rare twins at that.

1987 Buell RR1000 Battletwin, only 50 made, powered by the Harley Davidson XR-1000 Sportster motor which featured twin carbs.

Buell RR1200, only 59 produced, photo on lift is the owner with Erik Buell at barber Motorsports Museum

Harley Davidson VR1000, only 50 street bikes made and sold only in Poland when released as they had the most lenient emissions standards. These 3 are the most unusual seldom seen bikes in his collections. The VR1000 will be on display at the Radnor Concours D'Elegance in 2 weeks. He was invited/asked to attend.

Some of the wall decorations which really added to the attraction on his place.

The mayor and I hit it off really well since I'm a fellow Buell owner. For next year I need to ride mine to the event. It will certainly be on my calendar.

I gotta get with my contractor. I wanted this thing dried in before the summer started. Part of that is on me because I only had a general plan for the shop but he's had the construction plans for over a month now. I was told first part of August back in July. Still just a slab out there with nothing but an imaginary shop.

I watched a vid on how to do the kit yesterday. The way we had it broken down for the last mods will be plenty for the kit. The guy even left the tank on and just zip tied it up a bit. I think we can do it

Lots of nice bikes there! Really like the NineT and the 1098s.

What's your opinion of the 2025 Buell Hammerhead? That bike is sharp as a tac! I bought another pair of pants from NBT and was entered to win one. I'd gladly add it to the stable.

Honestly, with the way Erik Buell got screwed over by Harley at the end and the way Buell got shut down at the end I don't even follow them.

There is a guy near me that bought one, but he doesn't even ride it. I'm not sure I could even ride one anymore as my back and hips aren't that flexible at my age now.

Man I wish they still made the kdx. I'd buy one today! I had a friend that had one and I really enjoyed that bike on the trails.

    That MV is noice!

The RR 1000 reminds of when Team Elves set the air cooled, pushrod, v-twin land speed record in Bonneville.

That whole thing got wild at the end.. got screwed out of Buell Motorcycles, so he starts Erik Buell Racing to start providing race bikes instead, basically files bankruptcy and sells to an indian company, and then Erik Buell Racing, no longer associated with Erik Buell, buys back Buell Motorcycles all while Erik Buell himself starts up Fuell and works on an electric motorcycle and sells a bunch of copy cat e-bicycles and I don't even know if Fuell made any or if they're still alive or not.

The Team Elves bike was originally owned by Jim Howell who sold me my Buell and later hired me to work part time at his dealership. It was bike 50, the last one built. I wore my Team Elves shirt today.

I don't know where my shirt from when Aaron Wilson set the first record is, but I was around in the beginning and those who donated and contributed to the effort had our names listed on the bike.
