    Question is this...
Is there an ACC Fuse under the hood in the fuse box? Is there one that isn't powering a critical engine component like the ECU / INJ / Other Core Function?

    2023 G3 Tacoma TRD-OR 4X4

Installing an Auxbeam Switch Panel to control accessories.
Auxbeam requires a small current draw from an ACC Fuse Tap to turn the unity on and off when the truck is off to eliminate parasitic draw. It's like a relay to a relay that controls relays.

    I've read these threads:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/auxbeam-issue.857718/
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/auxbeam-8-gang-switch-panel-need-some-assistance.742030/

I have not found a definitive answer, just people that gave up and went a different route.

    Question is this...
Is there an ACC Fuse under the hood in the fuse box? Is there one that isn't powering a critical engine component like the ECU / INJ / Other Core Function?

If no, I'll run it back to the interior panel like a few before me have. But before I go running another wire through the firewall, I thought I'd check here.

Sorry to see that you didn't get an answer to your question here.

Can't you just use an 'add-a-fuse' lead to power the Auxbeam by turning one of the existing single fuse locations (like for daytime running lights) into a double?

Perhaps an expert will chime in.

That's what I'm doing. But I need to add it to an ACC Fuse.

I'm not an expert, but a quick search says to all ACC power comes from the interior panel, not under the hood.

I do know that using a tool like a 'fish tape' makes running the wire through the firewall easier. Wish i could be more helpful.

20241003_153110.jpg 20241003_153048.jpg You can use a fuse test light to verify which fuse is an ACC fuse, whichever fuse box you are using. I ran mine to the interior fuse box, located an ACC fuse, and used the supplied add-a-fuse. There is a small unused grommet that I ran the wire through. Good luck

I run quite a few “ignition-on only” accessories and didn’t want to overload a circuit. I can tell you with certainty that the best way to do this is run a relay that is triggered on by the ACC (cigarette lighter) fuse under the dash, and power it by a 10awg input from the battery. The output side to a small fuse block (I use a Blue Sea mini) with multiple outputs and Velcro it to spot under the dash. There is a big flat panel under there near the stock fuse block that is perfect for it.

I’ve had to add a few other accessories over time, and I’m so glad that I did this on the very first install. Now it’s just a matter of adding another wire to my installed fuse block to trigger on whatever accessory I’m adding and I’m done.

ANY FUSE UNDER THE HOOD THAT POWERS DOWN WITH KEY OFF....
It doesnt overload anything, its just a remote wire that tells the controller when to supply power, & when to not....

Just test all your fuses with a volt meter or test light till you find the one that has no power with key off & powers back up when key is on...
You can locate one under the hood, then look in the cab but under the hood would be cleaner & easier, & im assuming theres a fuse panel under the hood....

I have Multi Meter tested every single fuse under the hood and not a single one is ACC Controlled. The whole exterior / hood panel seems to be hot 24/7/365 regardless of the position of the Key / Button on ACCessory or not.

But for a bonus fact... I did find that there is a "Jumper Fuse" under the hood that is just exactly that a solid metal connection not designed to blow. Pull that thing and it shuts everything off. Like a master kill switch apparently. I've never seen anything like that but if you wanted to quickly kill the truck you can pull that out. High Crime Area? Parked at the airport for a while? Pull that dude out and it even resets the Trip OD and MPG. I'll bet if you leave it out over night or for a few days the ECU and transmission would have to re-learn everything.

    I dont have a 23...
I would say if you didnt already, recheck with key in the on position vs just the first click ACC, see if that gives you a different result.
Also sometimes theres a slight delay "timed power down" on certain circuits...

Tested with the truck completely off an the panel under the hood was hot.
Maybe because I've got the push button start and the key was in my pocket? Hmmm..... Now I'm wondering if I lock the keys (fob) in an Ammo Can and then bury it in the back yard if I test and get different results. Reason I say that is when I get close it detects the key and some things start lighting up on it.

    worth a shot...
I know its no big deal but cleaner install overall if remote wire is under the hood with everything else...

My sons 2010 ford ranger & my 24 tacoma, I was able to find a source under the hood for both...

There's a way to set the FOB so it doesn't transmit constantly. It's explained here just after the 1min mark:
