Unfortunately I was rear ended at a complete stop, we were safe but the truck was violently struck. So far the damage I've found, It looks like the passenger side of the bed compressed into the cab and sprung back. Every gap I've measured is significantly different from the driver's side. There is significant play in the rear wheel hub/bearings. Frame looks crooked, but its difficult to inspect on the ground. Rear diff is seeping now too. Shocks are covered in oil.

I'm the original owner and meticulously maintained it, only 37k miles.

What else should I be looking for? I'm very concerned about driveline/transmission/diff damage. I detected an intermittent buzzing noise in the engine too, abs?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, never had to deal with this.

Glad everyone is safe. Here is info I used replacing my rear bumper (posts #22 & #5). Hopefully, others will chime in with advice on the rest of your damage.

What would I be looking for?
I'd be looking for the idio who rammed you and slap them upside the head 6-ways to Sunday.

I assume the other driver was texting, or drunk... I mean how difficult is it to come to a stop.

Take it to your chosen OEM Toyota body shop for estimates, not the one your insurance tells you to go, and definitely not the place the RP’s insurance tells you to go!

Welcome to the forum, sorry this has to be your first post.

The other driver is 100% at fault here, hopefully they had insurance.

You need a good body shop for estimates, keep us posted.

    This!
No pics of the frame, but from the looks of the bed, the frame is probably bent and will require a total replacement. I’d start looking for a replacement vehicle,,,, I’m not saying it’s for sure totaled, but I’d start looking.

I'd be looking forward to my insurance company writing me a check for a new vehicle.

It's fixable. Best advice you have been given so far is take it to an OEM body shop. They repair these things all day every day and will use OEM parts. Glad everyone is OK.

Yeah, you don’t want that truck back. Even if the fix it and it looks pretty, it’ll never be the same. Totaled is the best case scenario. Worst is they want to fix it and take 2 months to do it.

Too little info to comment on the body/frame damage; but the diff was seeping before the irresponsible actions of another.

Thanks for the feedback! Our local Toyota dealership uses my preferred insurance shop; I have my first estimate at the preferred location tomorrow, the dealership had high praises for them. I'll get at least 3 different inspections on it.

A body shop will tell you when they get it on a rack, and definitely file the claim on the other party’s insurance.

I had a truck totaled after getting hit like that. Bumper obviously broken, bed was cracked and needed replacement. Some body panels needed repair or replacement. Frame damage pushed it over the threshold to total, and at the time frames were backordered with an unknown date. Glad they totaled it - even if fully repaired I’ve heard the carfax report with frame damage kills the resale value. Others can confirm if true but that potential worried me.

I'd be looking for the insurance company to total it, and I'd be looking for a good personal injury lawyer.

Is the other guy insured? If he is then I would hold out for a treat!
Don't accept anything from him or his insurance until you've spoken with a lawyer.
Play your cards right and you can end up with a truck of your choosing.

Do NOT sign away any 'future' medical issues that might come up.
You said you were fine, that's good, actually that's great.

But 2-3 months from now or 2-3 years from now some 'something' might get outta whack.

You should lobby for a doctor visit/ cat-scan. I took a spill on a motorcycle years and years ago,
ended up rolling up under a cop car who witnessed the entire deal - totaled the bike but not a
scratch on me - and now years later I suffer from cervical dystonia - was it related ?... I dunno ... but
I signed away all 'future' medical issue rights. Cops insisted I get checked out I being the tough guy
declined ... was damn glad I was wearing my boots/ jacket/ gloves/ helmet.

Anyway there I was lying up under this cop car - the wife working nearby came running to the scene...
Life Insurance Papers in one hand, Sears Catalog in the other hand....
You could see the disappointment in her eyes when I stood up....

That looks similar to my 2018 OR DCLB that was hit from behind while I was sitting at a stoplight. It was totaled.

…and I hope you grabbed all your personal stuff and mods off of it before they towed it to a storage yard. One of my trucks got stripped before I could retrieve my stuff from it.
