Truck Camping Photo Thread

A month ago we hung out in Kennecott and McCarthy for a few days. Very cool part of the world. AK has some big ass mountains.

 

Finally able to post in here (3rd gen owner as of this year). Took the truck up to Santa Cruz, Yosemite, Bishop and Wrightwood (photo below is up near Vincent Gap) over the course of a week. Wife and I in the wedge camper, and our kids on the platform bed, all was great!

Got out last weekend and gave the new solar panel a run. Kept the Ecoflow and fridge running no problem even when my 12v on the fridge decided to stop working.

 

this past weekend was our annual trip with a group of friends that I met at an offroad event in Arkansas about 5 years ago. we have gotten together at least once a year ever since, and sometimes twice a year.

We arrived a day before everyone else started showing up, so I took a bunch of pictures

Chinese BBQ was on the dinner menu for Friday night, we brought enough to feed the group of 10 adults and 3 kids Twice, and with a couple different items the second night





It was a beautiful spot in the Ozarks, and we found a great swimming hole(not pictured) that we spent the heat of the day at. I did have some great shots of the swimming hole from the drone, which I ended up losing in the trees around the bend from the swimming hole. we where using it to scout out a different camp site we thought may be close by and wanted to confirm its location.

 

Got a couple of nights out with my 12 week-old puppy, Zoe. We were near a bunch of small ponds in western Maine near Parlin Pond. I didn't have my RTT on the truck. So, I used my tent cot. First time it had seen action in 4 or 5 years. Relaxing few days!

Went out did lil exploring, found some new places. Thought long & hard but went back to an Ol’Favorite, just getting out even overnight is good. Listen to Mariners game Ichiro Suzuki #51 Retired. Soo Mariner Dog’s Chili&Mac&Cheese. Look’n @ camp from across Creek.

 

Was successful night. Next morning right when getting ready to put eggs in Skillet started raining, got awning up record time. Dang “Hippies” & drove around finding things.

How you like those tires.. ? & what winch is that Stealth Bumper. & we both have CampChef stove.

 

Nope. Trying to keep her away from people food. But I guess steak would be a traditional K9 food

 

Tires are okay. Definitely like them less than my previous BFG KO2s. They're louder and not as good in the snow, but overall they've been fine. I love how light they are, which was my main reason for buying them.

I'm running the TORQ Engineering hidden winch mount. Was trying to keep the front end as light as possible & it does just that!

Dude the CampChef stove has been the best upgrade to our camp setup recently. Had a coleman for about 10 years before this and the CampStove blows it out of the water with heat output and controllability. Best stove on the market for sure.

 

Is it just the camera or does that awning extend quite a ways?

 

Sometimes the weather isn’t what you expected. From mid 90’s to rain and an established camp site as my back up plan.

You plan for the unexpected.
And, 'Mother Nature" is NOT a MOTHER.
