So if I throw some washers in the bottom of the sensor, therefore angling it down I may fall within acceptable range?

Safelite refused to replace the windshield on my truck last year. I don’t even have a lift, just slightly larger tires 265/75/16. A local glass place took care of me no problem.

Maybe call some independent glass shops and ask if they can help you out.

In the forty thousand miles we’ve had in this one (we had a manual 2021 we modded very similarly), we’ve been rear ended twice and backed into an inanimate object once. Repairing the rear bumper for the third time is what started all this 4 weeks ago. I bought the 5100 Bilsteins this time to add to the inconspicuousness.

Those look like Alpharex tail lights yeah? Do you still have the OEM tails? Maybe try to swap them over and do a system reset by disconnecting the battery for a while.

I honestly don't know how you expect to solve this without being willing to troubleshoot.

I like it. It’s clearly a difference of a few inches. Tomorrow in day light imma put some washers under the gib and see if I can angle it down enough myself first

I’m gonna watch a video on how to remove the grille tonight and futz with trying to angle down the sensor tomorrow - stay tuned

why wouldn’t a new grill fit the sensor I have?

Is “setting the angles” a part of an alignment process?

My understanding is the garnish that goes between the grill and the radar sensor is the expensive part - my guess it is rarified.

Might try an ADAS specialist, check with your local body shops for contacts. A glass place is unlikely to have the wisdom to do the radar sensor as they don't do that in replacing a windshield.

Try the washers, but haven't heard of any success in doing so, maybe others have. I've not heard of any factory physical alignment of the sensor prior to calibration of the sensor using Techstream or equivalent. BSM in the rear bumpers has a physical alignment before calibration though.

I think the concerns with the lights is a red herring, but you could just unplug them and any interference they produce would be eliminated. Except then the calibration may not be able to be done as it is my understanding all faults, codes and idiot lights have to be rectified before any calibration. Do not know if disconnecting lights produce any codes, just mentioning.

I've had 35" tires on my truck without any "known" problems; and the 35"s will be going back on in the future so please post up with any solutions that work for you.

Thank you for bringing up the caveats. No one knows about that who haven't had the disabling done. Very good to know.

I know when I have had my grill radar sensor unplugged the manual cruise control did not work. Yes, disapointing.

Remove and unplug the electrical connector for the radar, remove 2 10MM hex screws and two push pins and the grill comes right off.

Your sensor will fit the other style grille, but the garnish (plastic piece that hides the sensor) is different than yours. Currently your garnish is the big oval “T”. On the pro/heritage grilles it’s a rectangle with a grey pattern on it that matches the grille openings.
As stated above I don’t think there’s really an alignment process for the grille sensor. Any reference to angles I’ve made is my own random guess clouded by leveling prejudice

Ok, cable for the winch permanently in, or under the rear seat?

I had two washers under the sensor’s bottom end and it did not so “ok”. So now we’re at one… we’ll see

wife gave the ok for a badge-less grill w/ bottom sensor mount - they all seem to include the garish from what I can tell.

I took it out and rolled it up - why else buy a wireless winch??

After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, do I need to drive for a few miles with the traction off?
