Emily's condo (technically her dad's) is almost done being renovated following the plumbing incident a couple months ago. All of Emily's stuff has been given to friends and family or donated, except her bed. Emily's dad gave us right of first refusal on the bed, which Amanda did not need because she just bought a new bed (plus Amanda's bed is a queen and Emily's is just a full). Emily's dad texted us while we were in Virginia Beach, saying that two interested parties had never shown up to get the bed, and that he just wanted it gone so the HOA didn't get on his ass. He said he would pay me $100 to get rid of it, and of course there was no way that I was turning that down. The bed, minus the mattress which had been thrown out, was in good condition. He had been planning to donate it, but his BMW isn't exactly ideal for hauling furniture. So, he sent me $100 via Venmo, and I drove right to the condo on Monday before even going home. The condo is still torn apart due to repairs being made, so there were a bunch of appliances on the front patio wrapped up in plastic (electric range, dishwasher, washer/dryer, water heater, and the kitchen sink). When we got there, I realized that only the boxspring and headboard were present. We searched all around the patio and found nothing, then I called Emily's dad. He told me that the contractor had told him the pieces of the bed were on the front patio, so I looked again. The key is being kept in one of those realtor lockboxes hanging from the front door, so the contractor can get in easily; Emily's dad didn't remember the code, so he called the contractor and got the code, then gave it to me. I got into the condo and did not find the missing parts of the bed...

    :annoyed:

We came to the conclusion that someone had taken the missing bed parts; I don't say they were stolen because the plan all along was to donate the bed. What annoys me is that this moron took everything but the boxspring and headquarters, rendering what parts they didn't take useless. What's really funny is there were was probably close to two grand just sitting there in the form of a stove, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, the kitchen sink, and a water heater. The appliances are all less than two years old, and the water heater would bring a lot of scrap money... o_O

It still ends well, because Emily's dad let me keep the hundred bucks, saying we'd helped him a lot over the last few months...

Are they good for me? I have no idea. (Probably not)
But that's been my 1 a day for about 10 years now.

I have had those but not that flavour..found them at a concert venue, not so bad for a booze free bevvie

I wonder maybe if someone had a set and those pieces they grabbed were busted or didn't like the headboard. Strange but some people don't use em. Good on ya helping the man.

Nothing is good for us nowadays, YOLO! Ghost has some decent ones I've been checking out lately, though I need to pare down my intake.

    Probably not.....

On that note: My uncle was just in from L.A.
He said they found a great pizza place. Best he ever had so far.
Don't remember what the name was or were it was exactly.

Supposedly, I'm going out there to visit in October.
But I got to be honest, I don't see it happening.
I really want to make it back up to Virginia (South West) and vist family there.
I used to help out there every summer and fall years ago. (cattle farm)
Kind miss those times. Family doesn't do cattle any more. (Too old)
Think I'd rather do slow paced life in Va. than fast paced L.A.

My neighbors across the street have a horse farm with 350 acres of land, you would think their dogs would be thrilled and could run for days on end over there. But the destructive beasts cannot wait to get past the fence and come over here, they dig big holes beside my house foundation, shit all over the yard, scratch up my deck with their claws, knock down my berry cages, and now started going after the new kitten, (they killed one of my previous cats). Wish they could keep the damn things contained over there or start chaining them up if they cannot control them.

Have you asked them to try and keep them on their land?
I had this issue once, I asked the neighbor to try and keep his dog out of our yard/house. Then asked him again.
And the 3rd time I told him, "You, me, or the county are going to have to figure this out. And I don't want to be the one to figure it out."
And in no way did I imply ANYTHING I might do.

The thing is, I was nice every time I talked with him.
And he was was nice too. The last time I talked to him, was the last time I seen that dog.

    The dog itself wasn't bad.
But the big bastard was always jumping up on me (us), and running into the house when we opened the door.
It was some type of a lab mix. It was just a pain in the ass. Not aggressive or anything. But a pain in the ass.

I have, they are nice people and even paid the vet bill for the cat their dog killed. The issue now is he is older and nearing the end of life and she is in over her head trying to care for the house, property, and animals. If the dogs were not so destructive and vicious it probably wouldn't bother me so much.

I'd talk with them again. If they can't manage to keep the dogs up.
Then they probably don't need the dogs. Sounds harsh. But it isn't....

I'd ask them if maybe you could help them build a kennel, or rehome them.
Maybe then, they'll take a BIG hint.

    I love animals (mostly).
If you (or I) wanted pets, we'd go get pets.

And YES, I was this way with my own dogs.
I had a Cocker Spaniel and Basset Hound that got out a few times.
I told the neighbors, do what ever you need to if they get out. (again)
They weren't mean or aggressive. But they were mine to deal with, not the neighbors.
