Ok so I have a 2001 Tacoma 2.7L (3RZ) and was told that I should run 0W-30 to get better gas mileage out of it as I was complaining to a friend about how I only get about 300mi out of a full tank. Is there any truth to this? I would love better gas mileage but i always chalked it up to the bigger tires I have on it (285/75/16) I love my truck and it’s my daily driver until it get my 2018 civic fix as I was in a wreck and have some harness issues. What are you all thoughts and opinions on this ? I have used Lucas Oil 5W-30 synthetic most of its life along with a few qts of there heavy duty oil stabilizer added to the oil since I have close to 200k on the clock.

I'd keep using 5w-30. I doubt the fuel mileage gain from switching would even be noticeable.

If it aint broke dont fix it.
