I'm prepping to do a transmission fluid and filter change. I do know that in general, some vehicles can be very picky as to what brand transmission fluid is used and even more so, on cars like our old murano, anything other than the nissan brand fluid is a bad idea.

What do yall use for transmission fluid?

Awesome. Thanks. It looks like a fluid and filter change I should expect 3-4 quarts drained.....so I should probably add 5 qts and do the level procedure from there?

I did a drain and fill last week. Less than 2 quarts came out of the pan indicating underfill from the factory. Added 3.5 quarts and .5 quarts drained out during the temp check procedure. So basically net 3 quarts added

So I have to admit.....I saw a different video that showed that jumper trick to know when the transmission was at the right temp.....I figured it was a complete scam and I was going to have to sort a scanner to borrow.

Love that I can do this without a computer!

Related question: Filter: Was just planning on getting a filter off Rock Auto unless here are different suggestions on that.

Post #8 has the strainer part number. I did a drain and fill like shown in the video and did not touch the strainer.
