If he's local, I'd start with popping the hood and having a look yourself and you'll easily figure it out when ya see it

No chance he can get it towed to his house to work on there instead?

It'd be basically just checking if the fan will spin right? And if it doesnt, then its either a fan clutch or fan bracket bearing?

Not sure, he's looking for help getting it moved home so I imagine he's trying to avoid paying the couple hundred to get it towed.
Figured if it was something simple like swapping the fan clutch it wouldn't be that bad to do there

Fan clutch comes off easily - I'd be worried about the pulley bracket behind it so check that out

Unless it's a pulley that seized and tossed the accessory belt?

Insurance should cover towing, unless the OP there is on liability or something :bananadead:

I haven't contacted him outside that one comment on his thread so I don't know anything else lol

But since his last thread was from February asking about the squealing, seems its been sitting the last 6 months there. Bet if he had free towing coverage it'd be used by now

I am starting to lean more towards thinking its the pulley bracket, based on the last 10 minutes of research lol
Bc if the fan clutch was seized it would spin still, and if its worn out and free-spinning, it should spin at least a little

Unless its like you said with the belt getting tossed
