What's the best way to tell the difference between nerve pain and muscular pain?

So if I have a pain in my wrist/forearm, it probably doesn't matter which kind it is for benching, right? Benching when you have an injury of whatever form would just make it worse, right?

 

I nurtured it for 4 years, it's on its own.

another way to tell is to take a couple ibuprofen
if the pain is from inflammation [aka injury/etc], that should help

if it is nerve pain, that will not make a difference

i got lots of nerve pain, i got so good at ignoring it that i didn't realize i had some inflammation pain as well
a few ibuprofen knocked the pain back enough that i can actually fall asleep some nights

load on an injured joint is more likely to make it worse

if you are so inclined you can redux the weight to a point where it is low enough you are not in pain and go thru the motions, with an emphasis on form adherence

sometimes those injuries come from stabilizer muscles that just weren't up to the task [or other muscles compensating for weak points
going back to a lower weight and focusing on form helps build them up and gives more stability to the joint
