Hey all, I just picked up a 25’ Tundra and am looking to upgrade the tires soon and was hoping for some input from some of the members here who are more knowledgeable than I am. I’m looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, Toyo AT3’s, or Falken AT4W’s. Which tire would y’all recommend will handle mild off-roading as well as the snowy conditions we get? Also are there any local tire shops that y’all recommend? Thank you in advance for the help!

Love my mickey thomson Baja Bosses (E rated). i had E rated goodyear duratracs before that which were much more noisy, similar performance. next set will be Baja Bosses

I've got Toyo AT3 and they've handled Mammoth winter driving without any issues. At the current rate of wear I'll get at least 50K miles out of them.

I'll be the Anti-Toyo AT3 guy. I've had 2 sets on 2 different rigs and have been disappointed when it comes to the offroad terrain we have, and the wet on-road performance too. I've had far better experiences on Mickey Baja Bosses as well as the old Falken AT3. I'm sure the AT4 is even better than the 3 so those would be a good tire for mild offroading. The Toyos have been far too 'loose' on the NV backroads and skate around a bunch, plus they really chip a lot too- Far more than any other tire i've run in our terrain. YMMV

Falken ftw. And if durability is the worry, that 50 or 55k mile warranty is nice. They just pro rate a refund on them (assuming using a discount tire or similar)

I used that mindset to ignore durability and just stuck to a tire I had before my current set. Driver skill is my trucks limiting factor not tires or setup.
Current set is around 40k and has at least 10k life left on them

At the moment I'm also anti Toyo AT3, I just had a new set put on my 3500 and after 2 trips to discount they still aren't balanced right. Could be balancers... but everyone that's balanced them said, yeah those were way off... they still are. I'm going to take it to a local place and see if they can do better, just haven't had time.

According to Hunter the Les Schwab and Fallon Ford (Ugh) have the Match Mount and Road Force Balancer. That's infuriating, I hope you get it fixed.

I think I'm going to try the falken at4 on the van this winter. They should be quieter than the cooper st pros on my van now and if they feel alright off road I'll probably also run them on the Tacoma to replace the Duratracs.

Had Falken AT3s and loved them. They came at a price with longevity (great in snow but not great total mileage). Would have repeated them if available. AT4 reviews were mixed in my opinion for overall performance (better longevity, lower snow performance)
I instead bought the Falken Rubitreks for my 2020 Tacoma early summer and so far so good. Cheaper, lighter, less aggressive and quieter relative to the AT4. TBD on snow and long term rough terrain. Have only had it out on forest roads.

Just need to call and order them from Discount. Same warranties etc.

To me that sounds like a defective tire or tires. Have a competent shop or mobil installer road force them and if they are out of spec you can use the road force print out to file a warranty claim and get new replacements for the bad ones at the least.
Out in Dayton is a guy that does mobil tires called Spinnin Tires and John is the absolute man, he's ex-LEO and retired Ultra4 racer and knows how to work tires or call a crap tire a crap tire. Very reasonable rates to boot, not sure if he goes all the way out to Fallon but might be worth coming to him if you're battling with your local places.

I have the AT4s in pizza cutter size. Can’t really comment on snow performance because of our mild winter last year but everything else they seem to do great.

I'm running AT4s on the wife's 4runner. They did great last winter around the lake and driving up and down Mt Rose. I plan on running them on the Tacoma when I need new tires. I definitely recommend them.

Anyone have a mountain bike they're looking to get rid of? The kids are of age they are biking all over, so I am looking for a bike. I don't want anything crazy because it's just going to be around town or maybe some easy trails with the kids, but I also don't want any cheap crappers. I found a GT aggressor pro on market place, seems good for $200... I haven't had a bike since I had a Redline RL340 when I was a kid, so I'm completely out of the loop on everything. I'm open to suggestions.
