I got extensions and U-Joints and a spark plug socket but any of you guys have any special tools you’ve found that make this job easier?

    Engine dead cold.
    Do the hard side first.
Lubricate the inside of the spark plug socket with engine oil when installing new plugs, so the socket comes off the plug after it is torqued correctly (master Toyota tech told me that after I asked him why my Snap-On socket was 'sticking' to the new plug after it was torqued)

A flex-head 3/8" ratchet. Not needed, but it's nice to have to get "clearance" over/under stuff.

I just changed mine today, nothing too difficult about it, a flex head thin ratchet made removing the black brackets on the drivers side easier but wasn't necessary. A mini screwdriver makes removing the coil plugs easier, but again isn't necessary if you don't have one.

Be cautious with the tool that puts the plug in. Some found that even light off-kilter pressure with a tool can hurt the threads ... some pre-feed by hand to avoid that initial damage. But I only repeat what others have said ... some use the sockets, others feed by hand.

Magnetic tray to hold bolts you have to remove. A magnetic pickup pen is good have handy in case you drop one of those bolts in the engine bay.

Thank you all for input. I’m curious about an extensions/adapters for your rachet that make easier to get to the plugs by removing less stuff?

I have this kit. The swivel socket portion is permanently attached.
So it won't fall off down into the sparkplug well, or the engine bay.
You can snake it into place with out fear of loosing the socket. And it's magnetic to hold onto the plugs.

Just don't use an impact on them, as it could break/jar the magnets loose.

I actually welded a spark plug socket to an extension because I kept getting the socket stuck down cylinoid shaft. The oils trick didn’t work for me.
