Ok so apparently 1 guy gave notice and quit another one just walked off the job. By Friday everyone who doesn't have a forklift certification can't drive one.
Guess one of the guys called someone and said that management said it was up to their discretion. NOPE class is on the 25th.
I have my certificate. We are 2 guys short in my department till Wednesday and then we're going to be 1 guy short. We also have 2 unable to drive a forklift because no certificate.
    Oh joy.

Sounds like they need to hold a forklift class.

I worked 4 years without a Hilo license at my last company. They said they where going to test me after 3 years. I said I'd fail on purpose so I wouldn't have to drive one anymore, lol. They said no one fails, it's just a technicality.
Enjoying retirement brothers. I'm getting things done at home like upgrading the hvac in the house. More involved with my church and that's so much more rewarding than anything else I do. Spending time with my wife and grocery shopping mid day and mid week with the rest of the seniors, lol.
    be safe drivers!

Just found my last forklift license from 2005. Worked at the same place 18 more years but they never tested us again. It’s all a smokescreen to appease the insurance companies anyway.

I did come out of retirement for 1 day last week, lol. My church has a food ministry where we give out food to the needy. A member of the church has a bread route and he uses his truck to pick up 8 pallets of food every week from a food bank. He hurt his back and will be out of work for a few weeks. But he said he would let us use his truck if I drove it since he knew I have a cdl. Just a straight box truck, easy peasy. So the show went on.

Good morning drivers, yesterday was fun. I pulled orders for the first time. Trying to set the bar low so when I mess up it looks normal. I made a few mistakes but for doing it the first time I did ok.
They loaded out 3 containers yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good and safe day today.

Good morning drivers y'all have a good and safe day today.
Sooo there I was minding my own business, when a supervisor comes up and hands me a forklift license and says keep it on you at all times. My reply was I'll take a picture because I don't keep my wallet on me it's locked up in my truck.
Man was it a busy day yesterday 6 containers and 2 full trucks and 3 LTL's.
Found out XPO is bringing us lunch on Friday too.:bananadance:

When I had vacations I would dream of being retired. Now I'm retired and don't think about vacations. I've been busy at home. Installed a new mini split ac and also a new gas furnace. Hvac has all been upgraded in the house. I may instal another small mini split in the bedroom next year. Next is a new kitchen sink faucet and a couple of awnings on the outside of the house. Finally getting things done for the home.
    Be safe drivers.
Outside compressor. Window unit is now gone.

Hello hello! Posted awhile ago about driving box trucks but lost that job and had to get another shit job. HOWEVER, this new job I received an offer as a school bus driver pending on me passing a CDL permit test. After that its basically me being paid for getting a basic CDL and a foot in the door for other trucking opportunities. Anyone have any tips for studying? I was gonna pick up a manual from the dmv when I get a chance and one of my friends has mention the CDL Prep app for practice tests and what not. From what they said itd just probably be for general, passenger, and airbrakes (which im already used to using, but my old boss said it wasnt required to get endorsed so never got one)

Ok today is the day XPO is bringing us lunch, 1st time.
After the guy got grounded that puts me in the loading container seat:censored:. My 1 coworker who's got his certificate asked me why are you still bringing in coils? I asked are you going to load cont? Nope, so that leaves me. Setting myself up.

I would get a book from your licensing agency to study with for a cdl b. In most states for driving a school buss you will also need a p or passenger endorsement. Pretty sure you will also need a medical card that the employer usually pays for the examination. I know here in Michigan there are several small schools that train just for cdl b licensing.

I'm thinking in house management. It's a big corporation, but this plant was sold to this 1 a few years ago and some are bucking the asimulation.
I've seen it before, we've done it this way for 20 years. And I've been here 20 years and we would have never done that.
They fired a my department district manager and site manager within a few months.
New department manager started this week, time will tell. But then again I'm there until I retire and really don't care because I'm there to fill the days.
Never worked in a plant before , it amazes me on the attitude of I don't like this particular thing or person so I'm looking for another job. Or I don't want to work so I stayed home.
Ya know 2 weeks after I started we had total destruction from the hurricane and for months it was the wild west there, anything goes.
I just do my job and watch.

That's the way it was at my old job. Had a revolving door for the employee's. I just took it one day at a time, one load at a time, and one disaster at a time. I had an end date in mind and I just took a lot of crap to get to the finish line. Oh, and I ruffled some feathers along the way too, lol.

Ya according to them my test would go over general, passenger, air brake, and school bus. They did register me for classes next week but I dont think I can join them if I end up getting work on those days. Could join on my phone while im working and try to listen in. And ya they sent me a place they want me to take my physical at.
