About 20% of North Americans smoke. How about about Tacoma owners?

Not to mention all the other reasons to quit, money spent on smoking obviously can't be spent on your Tacoma.

When you have any interest in quitting, ask your doctor (or pharmacist) about the options to help you quit. Ask especially about Varenicline [Chantix (USA), Champix (Canada)] - It is not for everyone, but it is the most successful way to go about it for most who have tried it (I don't work for Pfizer).

    http://www.chantix.com/about-chantix.aspx

Every smoker should do the math every year. Eventually, you will figure out its time to quit. Its the toughest DIY that I know of. What are your reasons to quit? What are your reasons to continue smoking? Most people try at least four times before successful (I tried to set up the poll to allow multiple selections)

Hardest thing I have ever tried to do. I had gone 15 days cold turkey until a few days ago. I have this awesome app on off of the android market called quit now. It has goals and trophies you earn as you go along. I had saved 100 bucks and not smoked 375 cigs when I messed up. Good luck!

I had a $1250-1500 a year habbit. I quit cold turkey. Have not had a cigarette in about 4 months. Needed money for truck mods. Now I have an energy drink habit that replaced it.

I quit last year after my third bout of bronchitis that winter. I do light up when I drink more than a few though, fortunately it's not that often.

I quit July 20th 2009. Stopped drinking coffee the same day as it was morning habit while on the way to work. Used Chantix for a little over 2 weeks and did not want one anymore. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be especially after smoking for 18 years. I realy don't worry a whole lot about money now due to having an additional $2500 a year in my pocket.

my son is six, and I quit shortly after my wife told me she was pregnant, so it's been about seven years. I don't miss it. My wife however, does.

You are probably right, but smoking 3 times a year is hardly being a smoker by most definitions. Just like having a drink once in a while doesn't make one a drinker.
