    I send kringles for birthdays and christmas, it's so easy, and nobody complains :p

    we have birthday cake and cherry cheese kringles here in the office this morning - i never treated myself for my birthday in February.

    Quick insane story -

    1996 Test For Echo Tour - Milwaukee.
    Me and my buddy who was working for the local crew that day decided to go scope out the arena for Neil Peart. We were driving around downtown and some guy pulls up next to us on a BMW motorcycle in all black leather and helmet. My buddy says jokingly - "I bet thats Neil." We laugh. Yeah, nah.

    We went into the arena to see how much we could see so we walked the bowl underneath the seats and got to the loading dock.

    Neil Peart was laying on the floor changing the oil on the BMW GS. Totally insane.
    We kept our mouths shut and looked inconspicuous and Brutus was walking around too.

    Memory for life.

    Rad man. I went to see his Italian villa in Santa Monica after he died. I had to take a picture of it. Just a guy living amongst others. That was Neil.

    For sure, I loved Ghost Rider, and Traveling Music. Really good reads. So much bad happened to him. But he took all of it with a smile and kept going.

    He was a big reason I became a long drive traveler. I have relished long road trips.

    Looking like I will get my fix in a few weeks with a drive up to Maine from NC.

    There's nothing better than exploring the places you've never been.

    I read Ghost Rider at a really harsh junction in my life, and man..... That. Was. Rough.

    But I've collected everything released ever since. Phenomenal reads.

    Tbh I don't know if I could read Ghost Rider again. I loved it, but.... What an emotional tell all.

    Edit: his first book, The Masked Rider, about cycling in Cameroon in the late 80s is TREMENDOUSLY fun
