Okay, think I got it! Key seems to be: don’t be a wuss and afraid to get the arc pretty tight up in there, LOL! Upped the settings to something actually appropriate for 1/4 and moved a bit closer so I don’t have to wait for it to mound up, and still didn’t blow through a single time in these practice runs.

Anything else y’all are seeing that I need to consider here or would you send it?

Thanks for all the help this week gents! Got the top and bottom plates done without any drama! Looks solid to me and not a complete mess, so I’m plenty happy!

Since I've got a ton of 3/16", think I'll cut one of these later today or tomorrow just for kicks

    Table extensions

I've got multiple squares I've purchased, including some I've made myself - I normally use pipe jacks at the end of my table for overhang but it could help to have two of these to use for any overhang on the shorter side since my table setup is narrow (6' x 2')

i did buy the titanium 125 flux welder yesterday as well. nothing major but it is hopefully an upgrade from that clarke welder.

I always loved those huge ones available for Siegmund tables, and it's part of the reason why I'll switch to them later down the road

They even have an aluminum/titanium variant that's badass AF

Did they give you the PLS price? They brought it back this weekend in the form of coupons.

If not maybe they will do a price adjustment?

I would have believed this was just a piece of art, LOL

Let me know how yours turn out! I got a couple of the extra long skinny ones with my table, but would certainly be interested and something a little more practical too (and love supporting your shop :fistbump:).

Go talk to them. They let me do a “virtual” return on a socket set I bought a few weeks before the PLS and then resold it to me at the discounted price. Didn’t even have to bring it in to the store. Just have to get a cool cashier and maybe having a membership might help.

Completely forgot about this thing too until I was browsing through my library; maybe I'll cut it out tomorrow as well?

Hell ya, didn’t want to bug you but would love to find a useful way consume the rest of that rod!

looks like there is a little piece capping the top too, and then idk if there is a easier solution for the cradle?
