Actually, when I first tried them by spraying a hose onto the windshield after cleaning with the isopropyl, they were jumping. But today, when it was actually raining, they have almost completely stopped. Pretty sure if I take a clay bar to it they’ll be perfect. Will update after I do that tomorrow. Thanks all!

OEM blades and OEM inserts. Can easily buy inserts online for cheap.

I personally clean with a 50/50 mix of 96% isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Then claybar the glass. Then seal with griot's glass sealer. Never had an issue with wiper noise of performance. I do this deep clean at least 1x a year. I change inserts usually once a year as well as winter chews them up

I have been driving for 5 decades now and never do jack shit to my windshield other than run it through the carwash along with the rest of the vehicle. I have never had this hopping thing happen. OP, any chance you live near some sort of industrial facility?

Wiping my wiper blades with WD-40 works well.

No, don’t live near anything like that and can’t think of any time I’ve been close to one. Same thing. I’ve had tons of vehicles that have had beat up old wipers I never did anything with and never had an issue.

I tried Rain-X about 40 years ago and it made my wipers skip and jump like crazy, never used again.

Get the weight of the arm off the blade when you're parked.

The cause of the hopping ( in most cases ) is that the wiper blade ..... is designed
to flip back and forth so that it drags across the windshield to wipe the rain off.
In the rest position ( when you turn off the wipers ) where they spend most of
the time..... the tip of the blade is bent over.

This bend becomes some what permanent. When you turn on the wipers the
blade it fails to flip over and drag as it's intended to do. That's when it hops.
This has work well on multi vehicles for me for decades. ( YMMV )

90% better after wiping down with isopropyl. Used the 0000 steel wool with isopropyl and that made it worse-hopping like crazy. Put down wax. Made it somewhat better.
Got the new OEM wipers and that solved it completely!
The previous ones that were on it were expensive rainX by the way. Thanks for the responses. Pretty crazy how much of a hard time it gave.
