Plug/cap for air box holes

I'm a 73 yr old car guy widow so bear with me. Yrs ago my husband installed cold air intake on my 04 tacoma 3.4l with a K&N type filter. When I went to clean and oil the filter I noticed a hole where it had been rubbing. After hours looking for a replacement that would fit (of course I have receipts for everything but that) and reading online discussions, i decided to return to the original air box (which i had kept, but no tube) and paper filter. It connected up to the cold air intake tube fine and bolted right in place and I left the MAF sensor and other connections on the tube which I hope is ok. Problem is I need to plug the holes where the MAF sensor and lines would have connected to the stock air box. (see pics) Can someone help with a way to plug or cap these holes so it doesnt cause a problem? Truck spends a lot of time in dusty Az so I need to cap the holes well. I hope I did ok and explained this correctly. Thx.

The Tube find a hose that fits then slide a plug in the hose clamp and your good!

The MAF sensor Port an old non working MAF sensor works fine!
Making sure the o ring is in good shape.
Would be the easy fix! Good Luck!!

 

Thx. I can do the hose connection openings. I dont have an old MAF sensor. Anyone have other suggestions to plug or cap that port?

Not sure if it’s discussed but the MAF is on the wrong location.

 

Yes the maf sensor is still.on the air intake tube. Didn't want to mess with it and a car buddy saw no reason to move it a few inches back to the air box, unless someone sees a problem with that.

Problem solved hopefully. Hardware store had rubber cork/stopper with 7/8 end that fits perfectly into the inner Maf sensor opening. Very tight and snug so hopefully will be fine. Realized the smaller opening is actually where the Maf sensor would bolt on, not a hose. Plugged it up too just in case. I think I'm good to go!

 

Is the MAF glued to the intake elbow? How is it staying in place?

 

It is mounted with screws as shown in the original photos I posted. Been there for years. I didnt touch it so it should be fine.

 

I might go around the plug with some silicone to keep things in place during thermal cycling ! Then if you need to ever remove it things come right off1
