How aggressive do they look? I was actually seriously considering the Yokohama X-AT. Not snow rated, but has the right characteristics that it could perform pretty well well things considered. Especially aired down

It’s a more mild all terrain, which I’ve struggled with because I came from the Maxxis Razr MTs. I prefer the look of a more aggressive tire but these preform so well on and off road that it would be silly for me to swap tires before they go bald. Here’s my truck with them mounted:

Definately mild, but they don’t look bad. Pretty similar to a G3 or a falken AT3

Yeah agree. They’ve been fantastic and I highly recommend them. I still may get the KO3s next just because I really want to try them and they look awesome.

Give this video a watch. Being in Bend you may benefit for having a summer tire set and a winter tire set.

I probably would… but I’d rather just run one set of tires. It’s cheaper and easier and saves on storage space

Perhaps just go with the 285/70/17 "C". The KO2's are even pretty easy to find as take offs. A lot of jeeps came with them. Or buy new KO3's in the same size. Not sure on the sidewall ply's of the KO2's in that size but I believe all KO3's have 3 ply sidewalls. For summer off roading in the Bend area I would defiantly want a tough sidewall.

I'm just shy of 82k miles, so had my second rotation done at Costco this morning. When I booked the appointment it said rotate and balance. It took them an hour and the truck drives a tad smoother, so I assume they did re balance them. They also added a little more nitrogen.

With 12k miles, these still have lots of tread and are performing very well on highways and with light off roading. They've been getting a full workout in Texas this past week. I'm still very happy with my decision to get these and as previously mentioned I will buy them again.

I get the itch to travel and I'm gone for sometimes a month or more at a time. Mostly due to the fact that I can't stand AZ summers anymore. :bananadead: Perks of working remote and contract to contract.

That’s awesome to hear, thanks for the update! I still love my Yoko’s but it feels more and more likely I’m gonna go with KO3s when these are done.

Can confirm. these aren't spectacular in the mud. I accidentally slipped sideways straddling three wheel ruts. Four wheel drive pulled me right out with some throttle. I was a bit surprised I couldn't move an inch forwards or backwards while in 2wd though. They did great on some rough, rocky backcountry roads. Can't wait to try them out in winter. My old cooper ST Maxx's are the bar to meet.

I just picked up a set the other day. LT285 /75 R16, Warranty only. They seem a little taller than my ko2s and they are noticably heavier. Braking seems a lot softer but I'll need new pads soon and its been in the 90s here so I'm chopping it up to that.

Haven't noticed any road noise but they are super comfortable on a beaten access road. I'll try some desert trails soon and report back.

I did get to test them in the rain for a few hours. I live in San Diego so the roads are only slick during the first rain. I have to say I didn't notice a difference from the ko2s. Probably need to wait till I break them in a bit.

Overall, I dig them alot, they look and feel great. They seem a lot sturdier then the ko2s.

I remember seeing an interview with a Viet nam POW who said his captors made sandals out of old tires for the prisoners and that they seemed to last forever.

That tracks (no pun intended). This was 1970 through 1975. Peak Vietnam Time in America.
