I feel for him… hard sleep. I hope he has some recovery time as that’s a no sleep kinda turnaround. I did 3 weeks of 18s offshore and it was BRUTAL! (Split 3rd man - two people from the same shift split the missing man on opposite shift).

The messed up part is, that power is going North State College way. They want clean power, but don't want to look at it so it goes in my neighborhood instead

    That's rough

I only pulled a triple one time.
I was not long out of high school, working as a kiln operator for Pfaltzgraff (stoneware).
    The old Aspers plant.
@Delta09 ... You know where that is.

The kiln was over one hundred feet long, continuous operation.
Mini rail cars were pushed slowly through preheat section, firing section, cool down.
My helper unloaded, and I reloaded the cars and monitored the kiln.
To shut the kiln down was a big deal, and would lose a lot of money.

So there was a huge snowstorm.
My helper and I couldn't leave, and nobody could get to us until the roads got cleared.
We were like zombies by then :p

You're thinking of the Cleveland Superbomb of '78.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blizzard_of_1978

The Winter of '77-'78 is to this day the coldest anyone still alive ever saw in Pennsylvania.
IIRC, the Mississippi was frozen over as far south as Memphis.

Good guess, but I pulled that triple in January 1975, I think :notsure:

Before I was even thought of

We don't get snows like that anymore (thank goodness). The last big one I remember is January 2016. I was living in McConnellsburg at the time with no AWD or 4WD vehicle...
