I just did this on my 08 access cab SR5 4x4 followed instuctions in above post to the T, got it on first attempt. Seat belt chime rings 5 times and then stops. Thanks for the post, I have disabled two of those annoying chimes now thanks to the things I have learned on TC!!!

Worked on my '11 first try as well. THANK YOU so much! My girlfriend only lives a few blocks away and hearing that beep beep beep every time I drove such a short distance was driving me nuts!

Ok, we need a new fix for the 2011 new cluster. And if you disagree with the premise, IGNORE IT! Some of us are adults and can make our own decisions on when we need to buckle up.

Yes something with the new gauge cluster changed. We really need how to turn off the chime. Drives me nuts I can't keep my work bag on the seat.

    Debadged, no seatbelt alarm
This was discussed above, I'm just providing the visuals on how to do it.

Below is the Seat Belt Warning EWD for the newer 2011 Tacoma. I'm not trained on reading these things, so if someone is, please chime in. But from what I can tell, the normal position for F21 is closed. Which means that it is set to chime unless the switch is opened and that it done by buckling the seat belt. So I figure that if I just unplugged it, it would be equivalent to always being plugged in.

    https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B5yw7y-A6wa5ZThmOGUyZDUtZDE2Zi00NmE0LTlkMmUtOTMwZWU4ZGU1NmM1&hl=en

Looking under the driver side seat, F21 is the the part circled.

And it's easily unplugged, so that's what I did.

And it works! No seat belt warning chime, no flashing light. The air bag light comes on and goes off just as it should. My biggest concern in doing this was that it might affect the air bag when I actually am buckled, but from reading through the repair manual and EWDs I don't believe it has any affect. But again, I'm no expert, so do at your own risk until someone who is chimes in.
