Just wanted to give a quick shout-out for the $22 Sylvania headlight restore kit. I read various reviews and this one came out on top most of the time. Also, the fact that this particular final clear coat needs to dry overnight (4-6 hours) creates confidence that it is a longer lasting coating than others.
It’s a multi step process that probably took me about two hours all set and done. The description is very clear. You’ll need a spray bottle for water and some extra paper towels. That’s it.
I don’t have a before picture but let’s just say when my wife was a passenger recently at night, she asked me whether I had my headlights on. It was no longer safe driving at night.

I don't recall which kit I used, but I polished the lenses on my 2007 twice. It did make a big difference, but after 14 years they were too far gone to do a 3rd time. I replaced my entire headlight assembly with a new factory set. It wasn't cheap but it not only improved the lighting, but it went a long way toward making the truck look a lot better.

Looks great, good job. There’s a lot of good headlight restoration products out there. I used Meguiars a few years ago and they still look great. The secrete to keep them from quickly re oxidizing is to apply a UV protectant. If you don’t apply a UV protectant periodically they will oxidize in no time. I also use Meguiars UV protectant.
Here’s my light and here’s the protectant I use.

Yes, a couple of years ago I tried a simple polishing job without any coating and it was bad again in mere months. Time will tell how long this lasts but it certainly looks great now and the abrasives and chemical steps seem well thought out.
