We are installing a new CNC saw in the shop tomorrow and guess who has to figure it out....? I haven't worked a piece of CNC equipment in over 25 years. From what I can tell todays machines and software are much easier than the old stuff. Last week I had to upgrade my cad station which was 12 years old. Best bang for the buck these days is a gaming computer, My tiny dark office looked like a disco when I booted it up, luckily it had a button on the outside where they could be turned off. We get one weeks training and that includes installing it. It's going to be a stressful but interesting week for me.

i've got that astro tool riv nut setter!

i gutted the case to allow for more space, so i could keep a right angle/low profile nut setter in there as well.

i also keep 10-32 and 3/8 riv nuts

    i agree.

but i learned to wrench on bicycles, which are entirely metric. so it just plain tends to be easier.

newer vehicles are just an odd mishmash anymore. half the stuff i work on is a combo of metric and sae hardware. fords are entirely metric anymore(5.5, 7, 8, 10, 15, and 18mm), and most of the big trucks are still mostly sae.

it's still crazy to me how until i came along and started stating the 'use it like a truck' use, nearly everyone only ever used them for stiffness and street cred...

pickup trucks are just the new minivan.

You won't get anywhere complaining to the city or filing suit. They'll bleed you dry and counter sue with some corrupt judge.

Do you have a local news station that could make a small story on it? AZ has "Gary Harper on your side" who has done a lot as a consumer activist.

I'd find a local paving company and have them build a slope transition and I'd integrate some type of drain grate and culvert so it doesn't all wash back towards your garage. If you sell you'll likely have to disclose what's obvious.

Here is a cut and past from Microcenter....

    • AMD Ryzen 9 9900X (4.4GHz) Processor
    • MSI Pro B850-P WiFi Motherboard
    • 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM
    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Graphics Card
    • 2TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD
    • 2.5GbE LAN, WiFi 7 (802.11be), Bluetooth 5.4
    • Windows 11 Pro
It's crazy my 12 year old system was running a 3.2GHz Intel processor. The old system was running a 1060 Nvidia card and wasn't really all that slow but was not upgradeable to Win 11.

Lol, no. But, they have a tendency to "rig" stuff and I ain't about that. Many years ago when I moved back they needed some electrical work done and was getting frustrated that I would do it "by the book". Now they won't even fuss and be like "yup, here's the money to get the stuff"

Allegedly the house goes to me if something happens to them (they're older). Front part of the house needs gutted, but is on a nice piece of property. Same friend I installed the water system.
