From Busted A/C to Beadlock TRD: Cajun 3rd Gen Limited Build Thread

You have an Off Road model, you don't have those metal pipes on the passenger side... not the battery side.

I have seen some owners put two batteries together in the factory battery location. Some owners put one in the factory location and other in the passenger side.

BTW, you lost the lid? I see the hole next to the engine cover.

 

Yea… I noticed that when swapping hoods last weekend. No idea when it disappeared. I remember checking the oil before going to OBX and didn’t notice the cap missing. I’ve not had to put oil in there and no one else has been under there but me since the last oil change, in November.

Got a new one and getting an oil change this weekend in case there is crap in there.

 

Ahhh gotcha. That’s helpful to know I can mount neither battery nor compressor

Got me… either it wasn’t tight and came off, was never put on and I never noticed or a gremlin stole it. I’m opting for the gremlin…

Just upgraded toolkit!! No more noisy air compressor. Really happy about this purchase.

 

Nice. I have DeWalt as well... I was a contractor for home construction / remodeling.

I like electricity wiring, though which it's easy to do. I did everything here and there, I mean drywall, flooring, lights, switches/outlets, list goes on.

Nice. I’ve worked in construction my whole career, starting in industrial electrical and instrumentation - plant-work; random refineries in south Texas - conduit, wire, meters, and controls. Then, commercial project management - education, food and beverage, warehouses. Mostly a bean counter, and professional email sender. Now I do operations and software consulting for labor-intensive trade contractors. A lot of commercial roofing clients. Travel a bunch.

but recently I’ve often thought to myself at the end of the day that I be happier doing the actual work. The idea of starting a company has been persistently bubbling up back-of-mind. I’m tired of sitting at a desk. I hate b.s. corporate politics. Idk

Summers in high school I’d work for my step dad, running low voltage in attics around New Orleans for 10 bucks/ hour. Big money as a 13yo.

I always had a chordless dewalt drill on my work belt.

 

Cool! I worked for a roof company but they are potheads. I know they stole my toolbelt, they said we don't see it. BS... I said in their face, "I QUIT!" I hate working with boss who lies." They were shocked. They wanted me back but I refused.. too late. I joined new home builds then I worked with remodeling.

 

lol! Never trust a pothead - they may have stolen your belt, but they’ve completely forgot about it!

 

They hid my belt... they refuse to give to me. I told them to give me the belt, they stood still for several minutes... then I said I quit in their face.

Then I got new one afterwards and other tools I needed... Then got a job shortly after.

 

Man... that's just weird. You made the right choice on getting the hell out of there.
