Intro to fitting 35s (< 3" Lifts for those that wheel and love alignments)

That is the older style one that spc has decided to stop making. Keep an eye on it. I think the warranty is only a year but they will replace if you can prove where you purchased it from

 

Bought from autozone, their warranty should cover it should it decide to shit out on me

at the price of those dobinsons you can nearly just get the high castor lcas and get a full inch more clearance

Where’d you route the airbox too instead of to the fender? My stock liners finally got ripped out and I really don’t like hydrolocking things lol

That’s a solid idea. Have you ever checked the airbox for water?

 

Yeah, it's always been dry. There's a huge thread about it on here somewhere with high success rates

 

Significantly much more work for 37s than when I clearanced my 35s. It’s been fun y'all.

 

I'm looking at getting new 295/75r16 in a e rated nitto recon grappler but I have just found out they offer it in a 35 11.5 r16 d rated tire. So it seems I would get a little bigger tire that may have a nicer ride. Would clearance be about the same amount of work? The 35s are about 7 pounds more per tire. I do dd this truck and i try to wheel a couple weekends a month. I would like other people's thoughts and opinions.

 

just get aftermarket liners like c4. i have mine siliconed water tight besides the bottom to drain water

 

Hey all. Looking for some advice here.

Goal: Run 35's or at the very least some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T All Terrain LT295/70R17

Rig: 2022 Tacoma TRD PRO MT

Current Wheels: 17x7 FORERUNNER TRD PRO ALLOY WHEEL / Bolt Pattern: 6x139.7 / Bore: 106.1mm / Offset: +4mm

Current Tires: Nitto Ridge Grapplers LT285/70R17 C 116/113Q (41,000 mi)

TRD PRO Stock Suspension: Fox 2.5-inch Internal Bypass shocks / TRD-engineered springs / TRD forged aluminum upper control arms

Mods: Wescott Tacoma Fox TRD PRO Lift Kit provides the following lifts: 2022 Toyota Tacoma: 1.5” (front lift) and 1” (rear lift)

Note: I do not have a body mount chop or anything like it.

Question: Can I fit the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T All Terrain LT295/70R17 without further mods or serious rubbing etc. My confusion comes from the TRD PRO suspension along with the Wescott kit, with some having told me it's the equivalent of a 3" lift. Not sure if that's BS or not. But TBH the 17's and Nitto Ridge Grapplers I have on now seem awful small for supposed 33's.

Request: Please only reply with helpful posts. Refrain from all the "Why do you want to change it?" and "It's stupid to make your truck the way you want it!". Not asking for opinions here, save those for your mom.

with positive wheel offset a 35x12.5 will rub sway bar and frame at full lock. Will also possibly rub the uca. id go with a wheel with some more offset (technically less) or a small wheel spacer. youl 100% need an agressive cmc or just a cmr. youl also have to cut fenders at the front and back. to clear to the bumpstops youl have to cut the entire radius of fenders.

an easy solution is c4 fabs big tire fitment kit that comes with cmr, new high clearance inner fenders and a cut template.

also since pros sit higher from the factory than standard models the westcott lift will infact be the equivalent of a 3" lift on a non pro model.

Yeh, the cowl is another option for intake routing, here's mine:

 

absolutely tucking 35s to the max.

 

No issues ru bbing on the gussets or brake caliper? Any issue with wheel weights hitting the gussets or caliper? I currently have the stock 2012 TRD wheels but want to swap my 35's on 17" rim with your specs on mine. I have the same gusset and on stock rims with 285/75/16 it is extremely close to the gusset and will throw a rim mounted way when it hits the gusset haha.

 

Personally I think scorched fabrication liners are nicer and cheaper
