Mines just a bunch of half tards tbh. Ordered something from a site that said my product got delivered and I said the fuck it did! The. They show me a screenshot of the usps page saying “delivered”. I said my cameras show zero activity that day it supposedly got delivered. So I send them a different address at my wife’s office and it was supposed to arrive Friday and nothing yet. USPS is a joke anymore. You can thank uncle Bezos for that

While I can't see that from my house, I sure as heck can hear the clatter from the starter all the way over here

I finally got around to finishing my tractor hood. Took it off, wet sanded it with 1500grit and then buffed it before installing new decals. It's not perfect but looks good enough for me. I think the decals add a little bit to it. Totally unnecessary but I like my eqpt to look nice and the decals were $3 each on e bay.

    ok compressor update!

so the gasket showed up at 3pm.... went right out, stuck it together, fired it up. EXACTLY the same as before. in & out thru the air cleaner.

standing there scratching my head & remembered something the guy said in the video about the valves on top were for easy start or some stuff like that.

remembered that was getting blow thru from there on that small line.

went to the tank branch. unhooked it. no back feed. nothing leaked.

hit the switch & bingo! with that line unhooked it works perfectly! NO i dont understand the mechanics of those valves & that line.

all that i know is that with that line unhooked it makes pressure, turns on & off with no problem & is running like it did the whole time until now.

YUP there is obviously something still wrong in the set up. but its working & until it stops working? will just run it as it is.

pic below so you can see where it is unhooked. you guys who have these might be able to dumb it down for me.fixed.jpg

That line is a compression release, so the motor doesn't have to push against 100 psi when it turns on for the next cycle.

There must be a bad check valve somewhere.

oh... ok that makes sense for what the video said about something unloader...... good news is it evidently doesnt really need it. electric motor whirls her right over, no problem.

I don't know how all of the unloaders work on different compressors but I did have the same problem on a new to me used compressor I bought recently and fixed it. Same thing, it would bleed all the tank air out thru the air filter.

Mine had an aftermarket switch/unloader on it and the hose that lets the head pressure bleed off was cut off and kinked over. The unloader is an air/electric switch that tells the electric motor when to kick off when the pressure hits a certain pressure.

It has a small hose hooked to it that lets the pressure bleed off the head of the compressor so the electric motor isn't starting the compressor pushing against tank pressure.

So my compressor did not have a one-way tank valve on it. That's where the big feed hose/pipe from the compressor head goes to the tank. Air goes in the tank but can't back come out. I installed one with a small port on it above the one-way ball valve. The port has a 1/4" air hose that goes to the unloader. When the unloader shuts off the motor the head pressure bleeds off.

Your tank one way valve may be bad. My other compressor got to where it would not bleed off head pressure. When it would try to start with full head pressure the breaker would kick out.

Ah something I do know what it is!

Yes I do have a 1 way check valve at the tank from the feed line.

The pressure switch on this is in the pic & is exactly like my well pump switch... Even same brand.

That valve is easy to check. Take off the big feed line above it and no air should come out of the tank. It was really messing with my mind trying to figure out what was wrong with my compressor and how the unloader would work with the hose to bleed off head pressure.

When I had my "eureka" moment was when I figured out that once the motor stopped running no air could move from the tank back to the head (and out the air filter) if the one way valve was working. The position of the unloader hose can be anywhere above the one way valve because no air is coming out of the tank to it.

ETA: One way valves are fairly cheap. Mine was $15 on Amaz0n
