Yeah. I know. I’ve been at this for a while. A bunch of mods have stayed on. A bunch have been upgraded. A bunch have been taken off. I need to do a little garage sale. I’ve got a problem where I keep sticking more and more Vleds lights everywhere. Hoping for the manual trans version of the armorlite floor… recently pulled off my bed rack and went back to a tonneau cover, gonna have to find a new spot for some Baja s1s, solar panel replacement (warrantied) is waiting its turn in line.

Don't know how motorcycles are but for Automobiles:
Then why have I, and millions more mechanics out there over the years taken the rotors and chuck them up on the old brake lathe and machine/turn/resurface them to true them back up so the pulsation from the warped rotor goes away... Or use an on car (vehicle) brake lathe to machine the rotors back true, the on car lathe compensates for a warped hub also... A warped rotor is a warped rotor, no matter how it gets that way...

BTW, most (not all) of the time, I can clean a warped rotor up in about 0.010", 1st fast cut is 0.002" per surface side (inner/outer of same rotor), if not true then another 0.002" per side, then normally a slow cut of just 0.001" per side for a total of 0.010".. That is using the triangle bits, using round bits can/will differ some...

Now, if you are able to scuff the rotor back smooth and the rotor did not show much runout using a dial indicator, then the rotor was not warped, it just had contamination/build up on it...

    I should have been clearer...

I wish there was a way to install four window switches on the passenger arm rest so the passenger can control all four windows instead of asking me to do it.
Essentially mirror the drivers window controls on the passenger side.

Or do like Chevrolet did for a while and put these in the center console for both parties to reach.

Agreed, all. I bought this Tacoma with ~25k miles last December, and had never liked the brake feel. I had always assumed it to be related to the electric assist OR's use, as my previous Tacoma was an SR5 (regular vacuum assist). Having replaced the rotors, I can say that most of my complaint was due to the abused rotors. The truck was off-lease, so I'm sure it wasn't treated with the greatest of care.

Gotcha, yeah that makes more sense... :D

Of course it would suck if someone hit the window lock on the passenger side and when you needed to roll a window down, you couldn't...
So it would be better to leave that switch off of the pass side...

Around town for normal driving, I drive like a normal person and just use the brake.
But when towing, or the long deceleration from speed on an exit ramp or in the mountains and hills, I like to use the transmission and engine to slow the vehicle. Keeps the wear off the brakes as much as possible and that way I'm not generating the heat in the first place.

The Tacoma doesn't have the gauges (without an aftermarket add on) but our old Mustang did and I could monitor Cylinder Head Temps, Coolant Temps, Oil Temps, Transmission Temps. Driving like this caused no uptick in Trans Temps (sometimes even shaved off a degree or two but circumstantial and not material) and dropped all other temps for heads, coolant, and oil. I've also been told it was beneficial for the turbo on that car because the relatively cooler air passed through the engine and out the exhaust through the turbo cooling it down. But I had no gauges on that to confirm.

So yes you do move the wear from the brake pads and rotors to somewhere else but that somewhere is a fluid that circulates through a cooler that can dissipate that heat. And I change Trans Fluid way before the service interval.

Lasfit bedmat. Excellent quality. Perfect fit.

Didn't have creases from being folded in the shipping box so there was no need to lay it out in the sun. Straight from box to the truck bed.

Replaced Drive belt with OEM P/N
    90916-02708.
    2TRFE w/ac...

    V6 owners have something else.

93k on the clock. The factory belt appeared to be in fine shape upon visual inspection. The OEM Toyota replacement is a Bando.

15 mins, $50, and hopefully another 90k+ worry free miles to go.

Yeah. Lol.. i haven't really put any money into my truck aside from a handful of inexpensive mods. My truck has 93k, I'm having potential oil pickup tube issues, and all I can think about lately is bed stiffeners and puddle pods...

I keep telling myself that neither of these "upgrades" is necessary...so the holding pattern continues.

For now it's maintenance only... That will keep me under the hood or frame once every couple months
