I think TC first gen LCA is a direct replacement with a fancier look but no added benefit. Solo is the only company IIRC that moves it 1” forward.

Heim joints and uniball are great, depending on where you live. They’re horrible and fail rather quick vs OEM during winter with salted road way. They’re unprotected and exposed to the elements.

Eh. Gen 1-3 all look good in different ways to me. Gen IV looks stretched top-to-bottom, though.

Anyhow, plugged the headlight back in, now truck is truly back in action. Now I just need to solve sleep + tires, so hoping for good Labor Day sales.

BTF Fabrication makes some really nice high clearance ones that push the ball joint forward an inch as well.

You are right, the initial design of the TC LCA had no added caster, and is a stock replacement; shitty design if you ask me. Not sure if TC revised it, therefore I asked.

No salt concerns for me unless I accidentally dump my truck in the ocean as I’m in Hawaii.

Used the Toyota branded AC cleaner/conditioner. Wasn't having any smells or anything but figured for under $30 its worth it. Only took about 30min start to finish. Good amount of nasty stuff came out for sure.

Did you use the same part from Summit? It says only for '95.5-00 trucks, but cant figure why it'd be different than '01-04 trucks

They have another one for 01-04 trucks, KT3014 instead of KT3011. Both look to be out of stock at Summit.
I also have no idea what the difference would be.
My first thought would be something related to double cabs, but KT3014 says on Fairchilds website that it fits all cab styles not just dbl, so who knows

Awesome, thank you sir. I've got some other projects between now and then, so I'll just keep an eye on the website for them to get restocked

Some things are better left unknown... I do plan on cracking it open late Fall and really getting in there though.

I got some used SCS wheels with some 285/75R17 and added a topper. Gonna need to figure out my simplest solution to not rubbing tires now haha

Good looking 4dr PobreFresh! The modern topper and bronze wheels with the 285/75’s make it pop for sure. Looks like 5100’s and some cutting/hammering are in your future

My 2000 5VZFE Prerunner has 280k miles on it, and has been giving me hell recently.
I just completed a tear down of my engine to fix both recent and long term problems.

Got down to the lower intake manifold and replaced both knock sensors and wiring harness.
Had a crack in a valve cover, replaced both covers, all gaskets, cam plugs, and FPG on half moons.
Replaced all the fuel injectors and wiring harness for each.
Coolant hoses to the throttle body were busted and leaking, replaced them.
New thermostat and gasket, upper and lower radiator hoses, new radiator, fresh coolant.
Intake manifold, upper, and lower plenum gaskets were worn down to bare metal, replaced all.
Cleaned the hell out of all metal engine parts, bolts, nuts etc.

I had lots of notes along the way, checked TW a lot, and took too many photos.
This took way longer than expected, but I couldn't have done it without yall.
Had this truck for eight years, and it has never started, idled, or driven this well before.
Thanks for all the help, good folks at TW.

    cheers

Thanks guys! Yeah I have Kings up front and dirt logic in the rear. Sitting about 2.5 inches higher. The tires barely rub when I turn hard and I’m compressed. They’re snagging my bumper and I think the outside edge of my UCAs. Wheels are -10 offset. I’m wanting to build a front bumper next. The topper will get sanded and then painted black.
