I wouldn't say it's a bad design just because it doesn't add castor.

I have the solo arms and while there is some benefits to the added castor from the LBJ, it also does change how the truck handles a bit. I also wouldn't say this is a bad thing really. But some might actually not like how it feels.

    YMMV

And anyways, the TC do move the LBJ forward.

As well as a dual shock tab and tab for limit straps.

    yeah that's a bit much.

I'd probably do the BTF ones if I was buying today.

You’ll rarely hear complaints of having too much caster, on the contrary, you’ll hear many wish they could add more…..but ok, fair enough.

Just glad that the OP got the redesigned arms.
TC seems to think that adding caster is an improvement worthy of a redesign.

I wish they had a limit strap tab. Otherwise they look like the way to go.

Overpriced bullshit. And if they are anything like many of their other products they will require massaging to fit properly.

More caster is always better IMO. I know some say that 1-2* is plenty, but it sure isn't for me. Jealous of your 5*.

Sounds like a great weekend! We love hearing that you’re enjoying the look of your Softopper so much you’re keeping it on. Here’s to plenty more camping trips ahead!

When I was looking for mine, I looked at Solo and BTF, BTF offered to weld a tab on mine for my limit strap. And they were slightly cheaper.

I'll hop on the Softopper train.

This was by far my favorite camping set up. Softopper over rooftop tent. Closed up for driving and wheeling, folded forward and tent popped for camping. Softopper protected the tent from the elements and hid it away from the general population. Tent over the bed kept center of gravity low, helped with weight distribution, and still left me plenty of room to store all my camping/wheeling gear.

Solo have limit strap tabs, and hydro bump strike pads which it doesn’t look like the others offer. Same price as BTF.

Huh, didn’t even think that was what that would be for. Haven’t had a sway bar for 15 years, kinda forgot they existed.

It does look like the design has been updated though, the tab is sticking off the side. Definitely wouldn’t work for a stock sway bar.

1" body lift is probably the cheapest. Otherwise an adjustable UCA and max out the lower cams. Or hammer the hell out of things.

Start pushing things forward too much and the front of the fender we'll become a problem.
