This thread is throwing me back to my first truck, a 1992 hilux/US market "toyota truck" MT which was crazy rough to drive and had little power in 2H/4H, but damn I took that thing wherever no other vehicle wanted to go in 4L while holding on to my teeth. It weighed nothing and in my rosy memory had stock clearance that never made me worry about bottoming out. And a breeze to work on. Of course I sold it just before it probably rotted to pieces. Sorry next owner.

    (sniff)

Seems like they're obviously built to compete with Maverick/Ridgeline. Doesn't appeal to me at all since I need a full size bed.

Hilux is more HD than Tacoma, outside the US they have these cool things called tray beds, that for some reason we can't get here o_O

I love the old Hilux's, but I think the newer ones kinda look like Ford Rangers ugly bro. I think it'd be sweet to get a new FJ type cruiser though...

I did hear we're supposed to get some sort of Maverick size truck here - or is that the Hilux we're referring to?

Screenshot_20250827-200857.png Yuck. Would be rad if they released that mini truck they have in (I think) Thailand and S Korea instead.

See, lost me at unibody...then again, I have a Tacoma, TRD Pro at that, so I'm not their target market.

I also need a truck that gets good mpg on the freeway. This thing doesn't look very aerodynamic.
