I've read that that is a new rule (the 12 month thing) and won't be applied retroactively.

    F1 isn’t quite locked up. I’d say it’s still a competitive 2 horse race. Now the Constructors Championship….. That’s a wrap!

Fair. I hope Oscar beats out Lando for the title, RB is cooked.

I thought the Cadillac brand was trying to shake its "old men's car" image.

Yeah this is absolutely correct, they changed the regs so that Article B1.10.4/G now states if something like this were to happen in 2026 it wouldn't apply because it would in essence time out after 12 months. And my understanding is the penalty points he was carrying from the Kmag incident are basically irrelevant because Terry's been reserve driver for Merc this season so they reset.

I actually think Caddy nailed the driver lineup for their debut, this is pretty much the best they could have done. In these circumstances you need experienced, veteran drivers who can provide feedback to the team on every aspect of both the car and the operation, and most importantly not bin it in the wall on a weekly basis. I think the marketing angle fits as well and gigantic bags of cash from Carlos Slim certainly doesn't hurt!

As far as Lowdon goes...meh. I mean, I'm not gonna call the guy a loser but let's be honest it's not like he's ever won anything. I think the bar is pretty low here for 2026, basically try not to be Alpine or embarrass yourselves any further and do your best to build some name recognition.

First Checo, now Horner. I may call them RBR -- "Red Bull Rejects".

    Humble prediction:

Max is going to regret not forcing his way out of RB.

Doesn't seem likely, Horner is prob out for the time being

Counter-prediction: Max drives against the odds and still finishes on the podium at the end of the season

I dunno Roody, I have been waiting for Max to turn the corner all season, it just doesn't seem likely....I just think Mclaren has that much better of a car right now.

I'd just like to see some competitive racing. Not getting it in motoGP right now.....so....if it doesn't happen in F1, it's hibernation time til 2026.

What is so uncompetitive? As far as F1 history goes goes this is a pretty competitive season. Racing in the midfield is probably closer than it generally was as are the lap times between the top teams and the rest of the field. The battle between the two McLaren drivers for the WDC could hardly be closer. So far in 2025 five teams and six different drivers have stood on the podium. Maybe F1 just isn't your thing.

I mean the odds are still in his favor as he currently sits 3rd. I haven't seen much from Merc, that shows Russell will be consistently beating Max.

I Agree with @steelhd ...... What is so uncompetitive? Everyone knows that you are a Max So using that logic we could also state that when Max was always winning and always podiums as that was not competitive either? It's one thing to be a fan of a driver, it's also another thing to be a fan of A team, And it's also a very different thing to be a fan of the sport in general. there has been tons of very good competitive racing this season but if you're only looking for competitive racing only coming from your driver, It just appears that some blinders on. And yes, I am a very big Mclaren fan and I am very happy that they are winning this year, am I happy that both of them are one and two and competing against one another,.... No I am not.... because I'm torn..... but This is also the first year that Mclaren has had a winning season in a very long time but I've still been a Mclaren fan for years and I still watch F1 because the sport is extremely competitive.

There's a title fight for the driver's championship, it just happens to be between 2 teammates but we've seen that be very exciting in previous instances. A single DNF at this point could be a major swing either way.

The fight for 2nd in the constructors is still exciting, Ferrari could easily blow this 25 point lead. The mid/back of the pack is incredibly bunched up with some of those teams (Sauber, AM) really turning it on going into the break. There's a lot of $$$ on the line there and the only thing really locked in is Alpine at the bottom.

I do agree that MotoGP has been frustrating, such high hopes in the offseason of this being an incredible year and it's been nothing but a wet fart every weekend. That being said, Martin is back and Bez has been on fire so watching Aprilia come into form has been exciting, the KTM's have really made strides the past month or so and are looking competitive and even Honda had a good showing last week. Yes, there is no title fight but there is still some really fucking good racing going on each week.

If either of them are close to each other in points there’s no way. Nobody is winning either championship besides McLaren so why team orders? The drivers have said in past races “I don’t care about LEC, I need to beat my teammate, what is he doing”

A joke that nobody gets is not a joke. :notsure:

The night before I sent that I was seeing "Horner goes to Cadillac!!!" being flung at my various feeds. The next morning Cadillac clarified; "Yeah, no. We're not even talking to the guy."

It's funny, my son has just started watching F1 with me so we watched Senna the other night. Oscar and Lando could take one another out in the final race to win the championship as Senna and Prost did to each other.

Not comparing talent, comparing the situation.

Though of like nothing more than to see Zac explode.
