did that work for you? I have always, after disconnecting the hard wire, push the button to discharge, re connect the hardwire, then insert new battery.

Sounds to me like one or more of the units are done. You likely need to replace them. How old are these smoke detectors? They generally last up to 10 years but often one or two units will fail before that. If they are approaching 10 years or are beyond that , just replace them. They are easy to replace but If you don’t feel comfortable doing so , have an electrician do it. Do not go without smoke detectors, they save lives. They saved my life 30 years ago.

What the hell is with people nowadays? It's like a trend or something to find the most outrageously overpriced thing, that because of it's price it has no real use, and then pay list price and pay more to modify it so it's even more useless... so you can brag to people that don't really care about you over social media about how little you care about money. And these guys have figured it out.
Somebody is gonna buy this thing and want it lowered and made into a convertible...

$340,000 for that is obscene. Even if you have gobs of money it’s just obscene. I had a 1976 F100 4x4 I bought new in 1976. Loved that truck. Wish I still had that truck today, I’d probably ask about $400,000 for it .

Good morning. Home gets power washed this morning. Then off to my sisters vacation home in Ocean Pines, MD. Party at my cousins home on Saturday in Delaware. Back home on Sunday to put dismantled shed into bags for pickup. Going to be a bust weekend.

I have a short story in a similar vein. I spent almost 16 years working part time for a Harley Davidson dealership in the parts department. Even though I was only part time I was one of the more informed parts people they had and they actually had business cards printed for me and I got commission on my sales so that should tell you I knew my job well. Had a young lady walk in who happened to be riding a Suzuki and was interested in trying to find a windshield for it as the local Suzuki dealership told her no one made a windshield for that bike. Right off the bat this has me pissed off because I know there were several aftermarket companies that offered something for her bike. Grabbed a couple of parts catalogs and found her a nice one that was made with a slight color gradient with various bike colors near the bottom gradually fading into a light smoke then clear at the top. We found a shield that was purple, similar to her bike and available in an appropriate height with mounting kit. Being a special order she had to pay for it in advance which she had no issue with. Money changes hands, I place the order and this should be a win-win.

Manager asks me why I'm selling Suzuki parts. I suggest that while she's riding a Suzuki right now what does he think will happen if/when she decides she might be interested in a Harley? Good customer relations are priceless and all sales should be good sales. He was NOT my manager for too much longer. FWIW she traded that bike in with us about 2 years later on a Harley Davidson and told the salesman straight out it was because she had gotten help from us in the past.
