60,000 Mile Service Cost!!!!!

Haha! I do not want that either.


For real, I absolutely hate all the complexity of new vehicles and dealing with that BS. Spent too much time this summer dicking around with our youngest's VW. That's where my EV hopes are from.

 

My son does his own maintenance on his cars and truck as well. I did a terrible thing once when he was home from college one weekend (he went to NC State and we lived about 1/2 hour away). He was just doing a routine oil change. He was under the car and asked me to hand him the new oil filter that was on the work bench. I stepped inside saw an oil filter (not in the box) . . . . yeah I just assumed that was the right one - turns out it was a Honda oil filter. it went on and the did not leak. All was fine until he got on I40 and it blew out. he pulled right over an called me. I came out with some oil and a new filter to get the car back home AND that is where I guess I made my mistake. Long story short I ended up getting him a rebuilt engine but he was not pleased - pretty expensive oil change.
