2014 + not only do you get Cruise control and better dash. There were mechanical changes to clutch basket and cam chain tensioner. (A final tensioner revision was on 2015+ but there havent been reports of the 2014 part num failing).

Anybody in here doing the WABDR this weekend? Wife and I are contemplating heading for Bethel Ridge camping this weekend (in the truck). Just wanted to say stop by and say hi if anyone is riding past. Not positive yet, but if we are there, you won't be able to miss us!

I don't think you can go wrong with either! I do love Yamaha blue but the white with red stripe is also a classic.

100% agree with this, and as @nd4spdbh said, get a 2014+ to get all the mechanical changes. Having factory cruise is so much better than an aftermarket setup. The one thing I'd skip is the ES suspension since I've heard rebuilding/servicing that suspension is a bit harder.

Also with these bikes, maintenance is more important than mileage. These things are very reliable so I wouldn't be scared by higher mileage. Even at 40k miles my bike feels so good.

Also, I would recommend a tune. I got the 2 Wheel Dyno Works tune and it transformed Sport mode for me.

I got my Tach industries dot led headlight installed on my tdub today.
    Stock halogen headlight.

Squeezed some dialectic grease into the electrical plug.

New light in, it's simple plug and play.
    20250829_134346.jpg
The new light has a real sharp cut off at the top, this makes it very easy to aim.

Brighter is good but I don't want to blind people coming at me either. So the sharp cut off is good.

I don't remember which light I got for the DRZ but it was amazing! I might get one for the WR if it fits:

I've tried looking for a 14+ but ATM those are all 10k I talked the dude with the blue 12 down to 4800. The bike has a aftermarket cruise (idk what brand), tune, arrow exhaust, all side panner attachments, and a bunch of other bits and bobs. If the bike is as good of shape he claims it's in I'll prob just go with that. The dash isn't a big deal to me same with having a factory cruise I can always just add it or deal with it lol.

But ya this is the bike I'll go take a look at next weekend.

i feel the cut off and aiming of headlights is wayyyy to often ignored especially with motorcycles. Other vehicles still can't see you if they're blinded by you

dude that's awesome. Please post the pics when you can lol.

I'm finally getting around to planning that road trip up along the 1/big sur with a motorcycle buddy, planning for end of September. he's taking his F800GS...i'm still deciding on the Ducati or R6 lmao. I'll have one hefty sized backpack to cover me for 4-5 days, and whatever extra space he'll have on his bike. But I'm pumped for it regardless

I forget exactly where in NorCal you are but maybe we can coordinate a dinner/or quick meet when me and my buddy make it up to Monterey/SF. Still deciding how far north we'll take it at the moment.

Also congrats on the Supermoto! I fight the desire to snag one every day...but I wanna get one race in with the R3 before I decide lol

You say that...but have you seen any of the new R9's?

rode with someone a couple weeks back on one. The bike itself looks much better in person...but something about the color was off that I couldn't place. Until a buddy of mine on a blue R6 showed up, and the difference in paint was stark. The R9 had a much flatter blue with much less depth to the color. was surprising to see

on the other hand, for many riders in my area it wouldn't make a difference because a lot of them ride around with their brights on all the time.

idk if it's for visibility or symmetry
