I’ve got nothing in tow but took a trip of Rusty-like proportions…

It rained so I just took stuff I didn’t care getting wet. Needed to go to my bank that’s about an hour from my house and from there, the phone took me to NH Rt 118.

I knew this road to be horrible- chunks of loose asphalt for miles BUT, the worst of it was recently paved over! Too bad the overlook for Lincoln NH was overgrown..

In any case, the route took me by the Warren NH Rocket:




I haven’t been this way for 15 years or so. Last time I saw it it was looking pretty ratty. Nice to see they spruced it up!

As a bonus, I had a nice conversation with some German tourists. Well, the conversation was a bit strained, I don’t know German and they said their English wasn’t good.

It was good enough for some banter about the rocket and NH’s ties to it. They were very pleasant and laughed when I thanked them for visiting the US.

Sorry I don’t have any tailgate meal to show, maybe next time..

What a crazy story. So the guy just asked the higher ups for the rocket, and they agreed as long as he could handle delivery!

Just imagine all the red tape it takes now just to get it strapped to a trailer. Never mind the whole interstate travel part...

 

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Isn’t it crazy.. I absolutely love that his motivation was to inspire the kids in this rural part of NH.

A long day fellers, up at 6am and rolled in home about 9:30 tonight, 943 miles round trip.

After the disastrous trip down with the traffic I wasn't going anywhere near Baltimore or DC so I took I 64 west and caught I 81, longer for sure but at least I was moving.

This has been a good week, almost 2400 miles since last Saturday.

 

Morning folks....Time to head to the farm and start the 50 hours maintenance on my tractor.
