For sure, just buys a little more time to take aim. :quickdraw: Kinda like wheel locks.

If I had to make a theft deterrent I would probably put a motion sensor that can be armed or disarmed, if it detects motion it starts panicking. And here's the next part, the horn is actually a train horn kit and the thieves get spooked and run away, saw a video on tiktok of it happening.

I've dealt with the issue enough that I sold a house and moved. I figured out they were pulling the signal from the Tacoma in the garage and using it to try and boost the 4runner in the driveway. Idiots didn't know the 4runner still had a physical key. I was tempted to leave the vehicle on jack stands, but I settled for a steering wheel lock, pedal jack, disconnecting the battery and pulling the starter and fuel pump fuses. Lots of security cameras and lights too. They settled for a neighbors accord a few houses down over my 4runner. :humble:

In England I heard that they have thick metal poles in their driveways that can be fastened to the ground so that it's impossible to even drive it out
I've never experienced intelligent thieves tho like you're mentioning, rolling code interceptors are some geek stuff.

Update: the metal pole is called a bollard

    Bollards.

I moved for other reasons too. Hoarder neighbors in front, rental next door that was bought by a property management conglomerate and then rented again, HOA, busy street behind the house. Good riddance.
