I am looking for the part number on a small heat shield on my 2002 toyota tacoma 2.4 litre manual two wheel drive. It is located on the fire wall inside the engine compartment. It is on the passenger side lower and close to center. It seems to protect the fire wall from heat coming from the exhaust manifold. It is silver on the face of it and it has fiberglass on the back side.

    Thank you for reading this.

You should grab your vin and head over to partsouq.com. I believe I found the piece you're talking about for my vin, but it's almost certainly different than yours. FYI, these parts show as discontinued.

    Thank you very much!
I might try to find some adequate material and make one. I am not sure how to attack it ,it seems like it was stuck on with a type of adhesive.

Both Summit Racing and Jegs have heat shield tape products available. I haven't used them, but know they are there...

    Here's a two volume set,
it's supposed to be 3 (Engine, Chassis, Body, Electrical vol 2A.) They are downloadable free as PDF (search around here for FSM) but always found the digital versions burdensome.

A Haynes from AutoZone will get you through most stuff but won't show the kind of detail an FSM has.

I'm being pedantic here but maybe this will matter to someone... The complete FSM is made up of Volume 1 (Maintenance/Preparation/Specifications/Diagnostics), Volume 2 (Engine/Chassis/Body/Electrical), and the Electrical Wiring Diagram. Volumes 1 and 2 are sometimes split into two books, so depending on the printing, that can be anywhere from 3-5 books (or 2-4 books if not including the EWD--the EWD is often sold separately).

When you see Volume 1a (or 1-1), or Volume 2a (or 2-2), that just means that the publisher decided to make Volume 1 or Volume 2 into two smaller books instead of one giant book.

Here's an example of the 2004 FSM printed as Volumes 1, 2, and 2a, plus the EWD:

And an example of the 2004 FSM printed as Volumes 1, 1a, 2, and 2a (no EWD)

And an example of the 2004 FSM printed as (~4" thick!) Volumes 1 and 2 (no EWD).

I bought my 2009 4Runner service manual set and schematic book from Quickby on eBay. Very happy, the books were brand new and still wrapped. Some would say they weren't cheap but I plan on owning my 4Runner forever and I have no other hobbies or vices. I gave up on Haynes/Chilton books a long time ago.
