Maybe the internal dividers are broken, allowing light to protrude through? Take it off and check.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Remove your bulbs clean out the sockets with a fitting brush and something like CRC 556 . That might fix your poor ground issue.
If it is not using LED`s

It looks like #7 is missing from your driver-side light.

I just took both taillights apart and the left-hand side divider is indeed missing. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... does anyone know if this part can be swapped out with a 4-Runner unit? There are more 4-Runners at the junkyard than Tacomas.

Your pax side rear tail light assembly blinker fluid is probably low.

Check the dipstick and add 75/90W fully synthetic if so.

It's called a tail-light separator. A good scrapyard should have a few lying around or be able to find one

The 4runner light housings are different from Tacoma housings. I've never taken a 4Runner light apart but I'd be surprised if the internals are interchangeable.

You need a 95-2000 Tacoma for a donor. The 01-04 lights are a different design that doesn't use the divider.

The 01-04 lights are also wired differently, so don't get any ideas about replacing the whole assembly :) . In theory they could be rewired to work but I'm not sure how feasible it is in practice.

Dang... I have a passenger side 95-2000 rear tail light I need to go to a good home. I suppose the divider is different from the Left and Right side

Not necessarily. Take the lens cover off and see if you can flip it over to the other side

I'm trying to remember off the top of my head but it's been a few years since I had one apart

Pretty sure the separator on my old 93 was the same side to side

Is this a new to you Truck or you never noticed the Problem?

I am thinking the 4 Runners will be different enough to not fit !
