Someday TW might be 60+... Dad's Gen2 Tacoma might make it to 60, as I take care of it for my kids, and a couple two or three year old grandsons... with NHOU frame treatments. 5k miles a year would take it that far, but with a new Yamaha outboard on his Grumman (now Marathon Boat) Sportcanoe, it may see more miles. He and Mom will always be riding with me in spirit...
Got word this morning that probate for my BFF downstairs neighbor is complete, a year and seven months after he passed on to the next dimension. (I know that, as I went into the room at the assisted living facility as soon as I was allowed to collect his 'personal effects' for his personal representative on the Pacific coast. We know where we are going when we cast off this mortal husk... )

Hey, I added a 1978 Grumman Sportcanoe to my eBay Motors watchlist, since Dad gave me his 1962 model with a varnished early '70s 4-horse Evinrude and an EZ-Loader trailer that he bought for hauling it with his new 2009 Tacoma.
The 1978 Sportcanoe is listed for "local pickup only" at Poway, and $3850 is reasonable as it's on a trailer with a 6 horse Mercury outboard, with the poly gunwale caps and dead grass paint options. A new built-to-order Grumman Sportcanoe is $3999 plus truck freight, without adding the optional paint cost (or trailer, oars, outboard engine, and other stuff).

This is Grumman's lighter weight version of the Maine Guide Boat.

I have found that if you use brand new batteries you have better luck. Those that were slightly used but removed, forget em.

    The list is growing.
I think powered antennas and plain Jane antennas don’t work well together. I tried splitting a few antennas to the single antenna connector on the tv. The hard to reach channel I wanted to come in better. Didn’t come in at all.

Opens mid-Sept here, but I don't go out till later on.
Less buggy and less foliage after first frost.
Lots of action already at my place.

I suppose that's nice. But there are a lot of interesting subjects that can't seem to be talked about, and more because people get frosty than that they are bad subjects to talk about. I'd like to talk about the economy as "the economy" rather than the politicized versions that people endorse, and once it is politicized I can understand the ban hammer because that's when it becomes unreasonable and people get hurt feelings and no one learns anything anyway. But it would be nice to talk about the philosophies involved and so often the site finds that problematic. I could not be a moderator.

I've wondered that about several people here that have lately joined. And a lot of the elders have disappeared lately too. I miss them. The conversations have gotten even more immature than usual. People that don't click on "Quote" and say something that by itself floats out there in the ether as nothing anyone can associate with any prior post, so it means nothing.

I notice that sort of thing on another forum that once was huge, Baja Nomad... Nothing lasts forever. People come and they go. I joined TW just over 15 years ago, just before getting my third 4x4 Off Road Tacoma (2010 model) in December 2009. I posted a lot on TW about the amazing A-TRAC system, both asking about it then sharing what I discovered by using it. Also, over on the TW Off-Roading section/ Trip Reports forum, I shared a lot of my Baja travels.

Now, I am old (-er) and neither drive as much or travel as much. It sucks... I turn 68 in 19 more days. I still want to do all the things I was doing when I was in my 'youth'. So weird that my brain thinks the same but my body won't deliver!!!
Please God, let me go four-wheeling, just one more time! ;)

Your math is a little off if you think people born in the mid-eighties are turning sixty. My daughter is forty-three and she was born in '82.
