    Can’t believe how expensing windshields are.

    Safelite quote is about 450 plus calibration. They don’t quote that online so I’ll need to call tomorrow

    Insurance will cover for the cost of the deductible but that’s about the price of the windshield too…


    Gonna call a couple local places tomorrow for more quotes. Or maybe drive around with it for a while. Since it’s not a daily maybe it’ll be alright :rofl:

    Eric, good decision, I would AVOID safelight at all costs, see if a local co. can take care of it for you, check how long they have been in business, and any surveys, of course, I know you know all this, I have seen too many safelight failures in my years in the industry, and if the crack doesnt go across, or affect your vision, once it goes to the bottom, you should be good. Good luck on your venture...

    3rd gen TRD OR suspension
    Yeah, that's how mine went earlier this summer. The 1st hot day that I flicked on the AC, I heard the star chip expand and crack 1/3 of width of the windshield. I ran it that way until mid July when the crack was large enough to cause light refraction from on- coming headlights.

    I found an independent shop that did a decent brand name aftermarket windshield for around $375 installed.
