That's a horrible idea. What time?
My favorite so far is from an off-roading friend, danger noodles. Although rope seems more appropriate.

Finished another project and so did my son! He keeps grabbing the triangle off cuts and having me nail them together. Teach them young!

May be you nailing them, but his friends must be in awe of what he gets to make. Gluing a birdhouse according to instructions is "advanced" for many young folk.

    Small project today.

Helping my son, 24 yo, build a frame out of Paduke for a vintage UT banner he recently acquired. He has done a lot of turning, at grandpa’s shop, but not much use with the table saw and has never touched the Domino.

I built this set of chairs in January of 2024. Seems a lot longer ago for some odd reason. I finished them with Danish Oil and put them outside by my fire pit. At this time, the finish is totally gone.

Today I pulled them into the garage while waiting for glue to dry. I gave them a quick had sand with 120 and 180 then a heavy coat of Penofin oil. They look much better, but I think I will let them dry for a few days and give them another coat.

They don’t even look like redwood anymore.

I visited the Gamble House in Pasadena today. More Greene and Greene than I have ever seen in my life. It is worth the trip if you are ever in the area.

I took about a hundred pics for future inspiration. Here are a few of my favorites.

Progress. I have lights in the garage! 10,000 lumens each x5. No excuse for seeing the sharp edge of stuff now.

    About 3 pm, no lights.

Electrician is almost done, and plumber needs to get in there for the sink and outdoor shower for the pool. Then I can get a table built and doing some stuff.

still trying to get the garage cleaned up and reorganized a bit, so took care of the turning tools.

    lathe_setup_front_2.jpg

    lathe_setup_back_2.jpg

last night, added a little "shelf" across the front for holding a bunch of drives and live centers. always happy to use up some scrapwood!

i'll have to keep an eye on the tools on the magnetic bar on the back -- they're grabbed on pretty good, but if things start shaking, they might move, but we'll see.
