    Ok guys
Ill try to make this simple.
I rebooted a 3rd gen axle and was going to reboot a 2nd gen CVJ axle.
There is about .75” difference in the shaft in between the bottom of the boots.
    Overall length is shorter too.
I measured after taking cage off.
Does anyone know if there is a length difference btw 3rd and 2nd gen OEM axles?
    Is this a CVJ thing?
I did have the shorter axle on my truck with no issues.
The length is concerning though or am i over thinking?

There was someone here just recently who had his inner CV actually pop out of the cup because his CVJ shaft was too short (tripod bound up against the edge of the CV cup and it destroyed his differential mount at the same time).

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/passenger-side-half-shaft-broke.722269/page-3#post-30761232

The thread wi_taco linked above is over 10 years old... So apparently this has been an ongoing problem at CVJ for quite some time now.

It's sounding more & more like CVJ may be a company to avoid (certainly one to be double-checked anyway).

Thank you i was looking for that thread.
I recalled seeing but couldnt find it.
Length wise i think i got one of those shitty axles, i was lucky it didnt pull out of the cup. Im not gonna rebuild.

Sucks because theyre local to me and i have gotten good axles from them.
